Oh hey MAJOR sweatfest 😅
Today I rocked my first insanity workout ever and did it with my fellow coaches! It's an intense cardio workout comprised of simple moves that make your whole body work 🔥
At the beginning of the day an event leader shared a story about a person who is currently fighting breast cancer. And at the beginning of the workout, our instructor @daniellenatoni reminded us of that person and that there are people who would give anything to use their bodies the way we were about to. There are people who want to squat, do a pushup, even march in place but aren't able to.
It really reminded me of how grateful I am to have the body that I do. It is strong, it is beautiful and is able to do an intense workout and work up a sweat 🏋️♀️
So today, myself and my #fitfam sweat (very profusely) for those who cannot 💕
Ok this was the best effort I had put in for this particular workout before, because I again stepped out of my comfort zone and lifted a little heavier than I usually do for squats, or deadlifts, etc. I was huffing and puffing, and making all kinds of funny faces. Lol! A couple of times I didn’t think my legs would let me rise back up from squats! But they did, and I am pretty happy today with my effort. I probably don’t deserve to be using the hashtag for girlswholiftheavy, but I lifted heavier for me, and that is all that matters. :-) So that means nothing less than 15 pounds and a max of 21 pounds. Have to say it is really gratifying seeing the definition in my arms as I lift now.

*Blackall 50 done!*
While this was my 2nd Blackall, a cool, wet day on the 'Plan B' course last year was an absolute world away from a hot and humid day on the true course this year!
Pretty happy all things considered with 3rd place in 4 hours 40 minutes. I'd love to have gone quicker and the legs were feeling good throughout, but those conditions were just cooking me!
The best thing about Blackall is the awesome atmosphere created by those supporting. Thank you to everyone who gave up their time to support the runners out there! Loved seeing the @sunco_runco at the bottom and top of the bluff! And a bike thank you to my lovely @chloeal16 being out there cheering me on (even if I was a hot mess by the time I saw her at 36km!). Now to head back up there for the presentations, and set my sights on the next challenge!!

Aside from finding my new favorite meal, I also realized that for the first time I ordered this ON VACATION because I CRAVED veggies 😲 A normal vaca for me usually involves me staring at myself in the mirror every morning debating whether or not to go around people 🤦🏼♀️ ordering burgers/fries/pizza & bringing back room snack like chips/cookies/candy and eating them until I felt like garbage💩 drinking very little to no water and then getting up to do it all again the next day..so exhausting! 💤 Today I found myself walking out of the hotel room without thinking twice about being around people and I’ve found myself making healthier eating & drinking choices because I WANT to..like whatttt??!?! 👏🏼👏🏼 I am able to enjoy the time I have here rather than worrying about what others are going to think about me, and man is it a fabulous new way to vacation! ✨

After an awesome week of training - Today was my programmed “Free Play” day @the.disco.ninja
So we trained @secretninja2101 today with @noonoo_ninja and we worked on some weaknesses *COUGH* I’m looking at you salmon ladder 😂😭
Any tips on conquering it would be much appreciated. 🙏🏼 I’m working on getting my chin over the bar during the kip but still a struggle😝
A small win today was doing the Quintupple steps single legged - I’ve chickened out in comps and played it super safe. However it costs time & therefore I need to work on having full confidence in myself doing them faster & more efficiently☺️✌🏼
PS: All I could do at the end of that last drill was nod #sweatfest 😜

Leg Friday! No Lifting this week, just HIIT and core but core is missing from the video.
Getting ready for my upcoming season in the MRDA, watching champs has got me really pushing hard for my goals. The teams at this level are strong but we are training to be stronger!
My iliopsoas tendonitis is FINALLY getting better, I can see I am slowly getting lower into my squats and lunges. It sure has been a long process but I have alot of my strength back. After 2 years I am starting to be able to get through my workouts that target my hips without having to do only modified versions.
If your recovering from an injury just be patient, I know its incredibly hard but keep your motivation and determination, do your daily stretches and restrengthing because one day it will all payoff.
