Laura was born and raised on Vancouver Island and spent most of her childhood training as a classical dancer. After moving to Vancouver for college she discovered her love of fitness and became a group fitness instructor in 2010. She’s taught pretty much every kind of fitness class under the sun: Bellyfit, Zumba, hoopdance, pole dance, body conditioning and the list goes on. The one common thread between all her classes has always been enjoyment. Staying active for the joy of moving your body. Laura has spent the last 12 years in Vancouver and is delighted to be back in Victoria. She is known for her energy, positivity and fun booty focused workouts. Is it just me, or does this carpet look like Fascia?
It’s the carpet in the common hallway of my studio building, and I can’t not see Fascia! (Unless I sometimes see neurons.)
Maybe I’ve been studying too much! 🤣
Happy Thursday! ✨ This is just a little something I remind myself when things feel tough or it feels like the universe is against me. .
I wasn’t selected for the Chicago Marathon lottery on Tuesday, which wouldn’t have bothered me except my husband got in, and we had big plans to run together! This will be his first ever marathon. But sometimes things don’t always go as planned, and that’s okay! 💖💖💖
Now I am leaning toward running on behalf of a charity, and in the process of selecting that charity I’ve felt like everything really does happen for a reason. I may not have gotten into Chicago how I had intended, but I’m ultimately going to do MORE GOOD and run for a bigger purpose than myself this time around. 💯💯
Once everything is official, I’ll post an update again of course. But remember, sometimes the way you thought you’d get there doesn’t pan out, but it doesn’t mean you won’t get there! 💪🏼
It’s #workoutwednesday ! Here’s a great mommy workout that I got to fit in! Even with my injured wrists, I still managed to get a good sweat. 💪🏽☺️💦💦💦 Thankful I know how to modify workouts to accommodate these “mommy thumbs”! 3 Rounds:
20 forward lunges with baby
20 reverse lunges with baby
10 sit-ups with baby
20 Russian twists with baby
10 sit-ups with baby
20 Russian twists with baby
20 squats with baby
20 DB bicep curl + single leg deadlifts
50 DB single arm snatch
10 DB shoulder press + chest adduction
5 DB forward arm raises
5 DB lateral arm raises
10 DB bent over wide upright row
10 DB tricep kickbacks
10 DB row + kickback
2 Rounds was a good sweat. 3 Rounds really pushed me and made it much harder and better though. Try it. No baby necessary lol. (Or just hold a big watermelon lmao)
Rolled out my whole body today, starting at my feet and working all the way up.
I did it because it feels amazing, and is like self-massage. But also because it’s “homework” for a Fascia Immersion Workshop I’m teaching at my studio @evolvetoharmony this weekend.
We will learn about Fascia theoretically, and then explore it experientially too with Yin, Foam Rollers, and Balls.
It’s going to be delicious, and there’s still 2 spots available.
Here’s a Thigh rolling move we will explore. It’s a doozy!
We all have 30 minutes a day to workout. We do. If you say "I'm so busy, I just don't have the time," then you're making an excuse and it's not a priority to you!
Sorry for the tough love, but that's the truth. EVERYONE has 30 minutes a day, it's just a matter of managing your time. ⌚
Here's a few options for you - wake up a little earlier (no kids!), utilize a grocery delivery/pick up service and use the time you would normally be in the grocery store, take your kids on a walk or to the park, do yoga before bed.
There's always time! The bottom line is that you have to get past all the crap you're letting get in your way.🤔
Find the people cheering you on...join our accountability group so you can be part of a group of people who want to see you succeed!!
You don't have to follow a crazy strict diet or workout plan. Keep it simple. Be basic.
It's time to LEVEL UP. ✌🏼
Feeling the stress of the holidays?
Here are a few tips for you:
1- Allow yourself to do less.
2- Allow yourself to say no.
3- Get enough sleep.
4- Stay hydrated!
5- Eat nourishing foods when you can, to balance out the times you can't.
6- Notice if you are creating any of your own pressures and stress, and if so, let go of your perfectionist side. It’s harming you AND those around you.
7- Don't let your yoga and/or meditation practice take a back seat. This is when you need it the most. Make it a PRIORITY!!
Hopping into sessions when I can with our clients gives me the upmost respect for what they do!! These workouts are hard AF, and takes some serious mental strength to concur. e3, you are all athletes through and through and this leg WO was my daily reminder to never give up and continue to strive. Things don’t get EASIER, you just get better. But that only happens when you remember WHO you are becoming and consistently taking action and exercising over and over again. Yes, even when you doubt yourself or your strength.

Intense bootcamp style workout ✔ My arms and legs are shaking but I am smiling because I made a choice to put me first more and recommitted myself to working out more often and that feels good. It is never to late to start fresh, to restart, to start over. I have had a hard fall. Losing my niece is the hardest thing I have ever gone through and the stress of it all is starting to show in many ways. I haven't taken self care seriously. But instead of ignoring my body I am listening to it and trying hard to start giving it what it needs. Focusing on ending 2018 by creating new habits so that 2019 starts off in the best way possible.

To grow you have to get uncomfortable. ⠀
Whether that means going back to school, asking for the job/ raise, or physically challenging yourself, growth happens OUTSIDE your comfort zone.
I’ve been working on this for months. Getting to this point has required practice, failure after failure, trust, release.
And i haven’t reached my goal yet - this is just step 2 of what seems like 100. There were moments of frustration, of thinking I’ll never get it, or that maybe it was just one of those things I’d never be able to do.
If you’ve ever felt that way about your journey, don’t give up. Get fucking uncomfortable! Keep showing up for you, practicing self love & self care, and giving yourself the space to be a beginner. No one starts off as the master. NO ONE. Because once you nail beginning, you can become a master. Even if it takes 314 attempts.
First workout done in about 2 weeks 😩!
We’ve been traveling some and I got the worst upper respiratory virus 🦠...needless to say things haven’t quite gone my way lately.
It felt good to ease back into our workout routine tonight. On to making chicken salsa stuffed peppers and catching up on some of our shows tonight 💕

Today was extra rewarding because wha whaaa this trainer hit me with an additional 10 min ab workout! 🤦
Cora surprised me and tolerated the entire 40 minutes! She even crawled over to my computer and rewinded my video, adding an extra few minutes 😅 Thanks, Cor bear 🙄 As if 40 minutes wasn't already enough. I'm truly DYING to get into the new 20 minute program launching in January! Aren't you?!
