Here comes a preview of our quirky little extension project in Watsonia. We are extending the living room and adding a little mezanine level that will act as a work space and will have quite a industrial finish.
Anybody else feeling like this week has flown by!?! Seriously...tomorrow is FRIDAY! 😳

One of our favourite projects from the latest Sanctuary is the 'granny flat upcycle' project in Melbourne, which shows how an old house and dilapidated granny flat could be retrofitted to become a contemporary sustainable home.
The original kitchen joinery was removed, 'seriously pimped up' and reused in the new kitchen, with local product Kobe Board added for benchtops. Check out the full feature on our new-look website!

Anxious AF to put this coffee stained table together with black legs - all quickly custom designed after digging through barnwood and seeing what scraps I could utilize and combine to create functional furniture with as few cuts as possible, but also be aesthetically pleasing - easy to put together, as well as take apart :) -
Pics of final assembly to come! 😍🎉🤗
I sanded this again with a 120 grit today and finalized with a coffee oil stain to complete the process, as I had already stained 1-2 times before so it seeoed into grain, but some stayed speckled in some of the grain with the last sand today, sonthis last stain is even emphasizing that more 😍 💚#CROME
SHAPE. Gable ends in a modern approach. Sleek and sharp that are easily replicated inside for added volume are a favourite of mine. And look at that window reflection☝️ super cool against the black cladding. #oxleyhouse ⠀

I’m still really stoked on how these walnut frames turned out for our friends @lifttorise (who you should totally check out because they are an amazing organization). But also ... these mitered corners tho... 🔥
🌬Molas capture the cosmovision of the Kuna. Stories passed down for generations, belonging to a culture and a people strongly connected to the universe and its energies. They are the first stories of Latin America. Listen carefully. 🌬
For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone. Audrey Hepburn

A very groovy #TBT to Oct. 18, 1971 when the SoCal Rapid Transit District Board Director George Takei (yes, that very one! 🖖🛸) and LA City Councilor Gilbert W. Lindsay launched the DTLA Minibus shuttle service, the transit system that would eventually become the DASH bus system🚏🚌💨 Back in the day, a ride on one of these adorable little canopied buses cost 10 cents🙀 Notably, these buses were powered by natural gas and propane! Look at you, LA: killin’ the sustainability game before it became mainstream 😎🌱🌎 (Photo cred: LA Metro Library and Archive)
Love these sound-absorbing panels with natural moss and lichen on a natural cork backing by @gillesalain 👌🏻 Great thing about them is that they require no maintenance at all, so good news for the lazy plant-parents out there! 😉
They just don't make them like they used to. Cottons seem to have dropped in quality both in fabric shops and ready to wear garments. This woven cotton from the 90's has a quality you can feel. It's still new and unwashed, so there's a bit of starchy stiffness to it, but it's going to soften up with washing and be a durable team player. Great for quilting or garments.

How can businesses achieve resilience in the face of climate change, urbanization and natural disasters?
Paul Woolford, Design Principal of HOK’s San Francisco studio, was the CoreNet Global Conference this week to discuss how our practice applies biological and ecological intelligence to solve some of the most vexing challenges of the built environment. Joining him in this roundtable session were Google’s Robin Bass, Interface Carpet’s Erin Meezan and Biomimicry 3.8’s Nicole Miller. #Biomimicry#Sustainability#SustainableDesign#ResilientDesign#CoreNetGlobal#HOK#HOKSF#Google#Interface#Biomimicry38
