Our perception of place is formed not only by our visual observations of it, but also by the sensations we feel when moving through that place. In @karenloader1 ‘s work it is both a physical and psychological reading of place. The actions of looking and moving incorporate sensations of up and down, in and out, side to side. The atmosphere is shaped by the subtle similarities and differences of form and surface that emerge by noticing opposing qualities of light and dark, soft and smooth, near and far as well as variations in colour; constructing a rhythmic interpretation of what Loader experiences in relation to her surroundings. INTERVAL sets up a dialogue between perceptions of natural and man-made phenomena within the built environment and hints towards the possibility of a more harmonic approach to living in the city. Making work that is both sensual and conceptual encourages the viewer to engage physically as well as imaginatively and draws attention to how place and space interact, how we are shaped by the world around us, but also how we can shape it and operate within it. 🌟 currently showing as part of #CBexceptional our #newgraduate#artaward#exhibition#artinlawfirms#sitespecific#graphite#supportingartists

Today's #MondayMotivator is the talented @pitrelaurent .This Montreal-native is an actor, writer, playwright, producer and teacher. This bilingual artist, has written, produced, directed and performed in a plethora of plays with some of Montreal's most renowned Theatre companies. He created some memorable pieces that he performed at various Festivals (Fringe), and has made TV and film appearances (Broken Trust, FANatic). He continuously works on his craft and challenges himself to create new plays and films that entertain and enlighten his audiences. I just recently got to meet Laurent, and I was blown away by his energy, generosity and genuineness. It is always motivating and inspiring to meet artists that contribute their talent and time to support others, as well as invest their own time and energy in the creation of their own art, be it theatrical plays or short film or webseries or any form of visual or creative content. And Laurent definitely exemplifies that! This community is lucky to have him! If you are not familiar with Laurent or his work, don't miss out and follow this bright artist's page and career! You will definitely be motivated and inspired to create and to push yourself to work on your craft!
This beautiful face says it all!
