“Reflections in Time”
This lake is truly amazing and was by far our favorite place to camp and settle in for the week! Over the years I’ve always been drawn into these pristine waters and the ever impressive Sevehah Cliffs of Mt Morrison and those wavy folds of metamorphic rock originating from a prehistoric ocean floor from hundreds of millions of years ago! It was great to be back here again!
In case you were wondering how this place got it’s name well it was named after a real encounter with a group of convicts when they escaped from prison in 1871. One person died when a shootout ensued as deputies came to bring them back to prison! Mt Morrison was named after the one deceased, Robert Morrison. .
I saw the clouds yesterday after work and I knew that it’d look bonkers at sunset. When I got to the beach, wow!! It’s like a scene from the movies! It’s so crazy how much clouds can add to a view when they’re in right places. ⠀
After being there for a bit, it actually started raining! You can see the raindrops on my lens haha! I’ve missed the clouds and rain. What a joy to see them again.
Every time I’ve gone to Haskell’s Beach with a camera something unlucky happens. Over the past year I’ve lost my shoes, a filter, and my dignity while shooting there (long story for another day) plus I ALWAYS get skunked. This just makes me feel like I’m in a battle with this stupid beach (Yes, I know this is insane) I NEED to conquer it. A few weeks ago I saw that the clouds were shaping up to be totally epic so I made the drive out there. My intuition was right, the sunset was gorgeous. Long after the sun went down I smugly stood there thinking, “Finally I can chalk up a win in my column.” Right before I started my victory dance I turned around to pack up my gear and caught a dog peeing all over my camera bag AND my favorite Dodger sweatshirt, clearly he was a giants fan 🙄 Well played Haskell’s, well played 😏
Thank you so much @4_nightshot and their Adm @helena_gram for the effort spent to select and featuring my work. I am more than happy to received this mention and proud to have my photo displayed in their stunning gallery amongst billion of talented photographers on IG.

Side note: yes, I posted this last night but it was the wrong edit. Turns out I CANNOT multitask. Also, I changed the caption by popular demand. 😂
