took advantage of the rare free time and got some longer core rehab work in (thanks @ericaziel 💓) and more sun As than usual.. heavily modified sun As. I’ve been personally documenting my ‘back to pre-baby practice’ journey and wasn’t going to post this because it isn’t fancy, “full expression” or particularly strong, but i think it’s important to- for me, for other moms recovering. these sun As are my current practice in which I’m building my strength back up (chatty pushups) and working to regain flexibility (skipped up dog, bent knees in fwd fold and half lift). I went from not being able to walk, for a day or so, to these modified sun As in five weeks. I felt like I’d never fold forward again, let alone make my way into a down dog- but I’m making progress!! I’m slowly making my way back to a ‘normal’ sun salutation A and soon adding in some iteration of a sun B 🤞☀️ and I’m so excited for these little steps made and I’m looking forward to what lies ahead!! I just need to remember to be patient and stay persistent. .

Went for a jog in the sunshine, found the perfect peaceful spot for my practice.... and then came the wind and rain storm. I have to say running in the tropical rain may be my new favourite thing 🤣🌎⛈ •DAY 82• #100daysofyoga .
There is something so freeing about practicing out in the open air, hearing the sound of the water and feeling the sand under your feet. Today I tried the @kinoyoga beach sequence on @omstarsofficial and I loved being able to tune into my surroundings while attempting bits of primary series in the sand. 🙏🏻❤️
Sun A. There are many little things I’m proud of in this video. I’ve had such struggles with my wrists, and getting my heels closer to the ground in Downward Facing Dog (someday!). But I’m proud of my chaturangas, transitioning into Upward Dog...my hop forward has improved. Working on getting more float in it. Working toward a deeper forward fold. But it’s always nice to go back and break down the basics, the foundations for everything else.

By this time I have already done my yoga for scoliosis, planned my day, taken some me time and feel ready to face whatever curve balls the day may have for me.
Knowing that I get to see this #sunrise as part of my morning ritual #sunsalutation while I have my tea just makes me excited to wake up before the sun.
If I have come to realize anything from my journey from NYC to the middle of no where in Florida it is this... Creating this... a life you don’t have to take a vacation from, is the ideal goal and that is ideally a mindset.
You can decide to find paradise wherever you are. It has to exist within you first and ultimately in order for you to find it anywhere life takes you.

YB Saturday Workshops
This month’s theme is Breathe Through Fear. As we head toward the dark cauldron of Winter, when hibernation and rest are calling, but the routines of life exact their same daily demands, we can experience conflict and scattering, leading to worry, lack of energy or even shutdown. In this workshop we will harness the transformational power of the breath (Pranayama in yoga) to energise, melt the defences, and transcend to a higher state of consciousness.
This is my basic sun salutation from this morning...
Generally sun salutation sequences vary a lot but the main concentration should be the breathing that goes with it!
