👱🏼♀️ Own That Ponytail, Work That Updo 👟 Busy, busy, busy! Hump Day🐪has a lot of kids going back to school and hours are being changed. Which means adapting time for that workout🧘🏻♀️Like for me, I got up earlier than usual to get a speed run in on the treadmill🏃🏻♀️as it’s raining all day🌧and I have plans after work. It’s all about finding that time and making your health a priority. Even a 20 minute at home HIIT workout counts!⏱You can do it! I believe in you!
Sunrise run on the Mary Carter Greenway Trail. ⏱9:49 pace for 4 miles. ⏱ My goal is to keep my heart rate low (for me, under 150) on these easy runs, but I’ll have to go slower still, especially on the uphills! I didn’t realize until after (thanks, garmin) that almost half of my run was still too high. I’ll be working on that in the coming weeks so I’m not taxing myself too much on runs that are supposed to be super easy! Working on that 80/20! 😎 Hope you all have a wonderful day!
This is a photo from a 3 week trip to Europe with family and friends a few years ago. This particular morning, I woke up before sunrise and went for one of the most AMAZING and scenic runs of my life through all of the windmills at sunrise 🌅 It was one of those moments where I felt totally present to my surroundings, connected, and so grateful for the experience. You know those moments where you feel completely in flow.
Sometimes those moments are few and far between in the hustle of our daily lives. I used to think those moments were reserved for when I was on vacation. That I didn’t have time to experience them because I needed to keep pushing hard to get everything done. “Once I get through this, I can take a break” was my mantra. But it turned out that once I got through that thing, another thing popped up, and then another. And I was missing out on a lot.
Carving out the time to allow yourself to experience presence, connection, and gratitude DAILY in the midst of our crazy lives is so important. It’s easy to do when you’re on vacation, but that’s not real-life. I’m STILL learning and finding ways that I can experience these feelings in the ordinary moments of my day even when my to-do list seems a mile long.
How do you make time each day for yourself? I would love to hear your ideas! 👇🏼👇🏼
By the time I crossed this bridge the early morning sun was already ripening from mango-hued yellow-orange into blue and the late summer grass was gleaming with dew and twinkled in the warm, sugary light. And the clouds, just wisps of white, stood unmoving like traces of powdered sugar on a baker's counter top. Yes, it looked peaceful, but I was also hungry AF is what I’m trying to say.
I’m in a new phase of the plan I’m on and there’s an increased focus on what they call Interval paces for the next few weeks. This pace is just faster than 5km race pace. It’s a new-to-me speed to work at and I’m loving it. I have always thought of myself as more of a threshold loving person (longer workouts at a more sustainable pace) but maybe this faster stuff is up my alley too?! Today was 7 x 1km with 3min recoveries. Rocked it and it felt great! #intervalworkout#fishcreek#runyyc#sunriserun#sunriserunner @iloendurance
🌈 Colors for a Dreary Day 🌧 It’s raining the rest of the week so finding the right timing and places to run will be a challenge this week. I may even have to use the treadmill 😱 Weather is definitely a huge factor when trying to get fit, especially those of us who thrive outside. But there’s always a way to get a workout in. Don’t make excuses for yourself, just adapt. 💪🏼
Beautiful sunrise this morning. I'm glad the smoke is clearing out enough to run.
It's been a rough couple weeks, here's hoping that I can get back in the habit of self-care. Just gotta re-convince myself that eating healthy isn't deprivation lol. My time dropped significantly since last run because I haven't been eating well at all. It's so interesting how much of a difference eating habits make in overall mindset.
THIS VIEW! I took my "rest" day 1 day early so I could run around the lake at sunrise with the hubs! Tomorrow I start back to school & didn't think I'd have time to drive to the lake for a run. I love that Wade & I can be active together and that I'm doing a program right now that is super flexible in the days!

I am loving these track workouts, which is weird for me to say. I used to dread them, but it helps that I’m really just out there for fun and to push myself. I don’t have times I’m trying to hit, so I’m running on feel and trying to keep up with the guys in front of me - @kroneey and @jmassey262 🙏🏻There were about 14 of us out there this morning sweating our faces off! Good way to start the day☀️. .
