Got this notebook when I was in New Zealand and started to be serious about being healthy ! Wrote everything I was eating, exercise I was doing my stats from my Apple watch. I did well while there, went from 97kg to 84kg. Came back to France, and slowly went back up to the starting weight (not my heaviest through). I knew I would have to work harder at home, that I would want to go back to eat all the nice food I missed while living abroad for a few years. I did fine for a while, but life stuff came in the way and I went back to stress eating and went back to where I started in New Zealand.
So it is time to get back to the basics : fitness pal to track calories, my notebook with my motivational quotes and writing down everything. “But what will people think….?”
It was a week ago that I was standing on a Kentucky countryside laying my Grandma to her eternal rest. When I started looking around at the people that had made the drive from the funeral home to the actual gravesite.
I was reminded of a story I had heard that one can work hard to please others and in the end, only 10 people will care enough to cry. And that the number one factor that will determine the number of people that will go to your funeral/burial site or funeral procession is the WEATHER! Yes, the WEATHER! It was found that if it is raining, more than 50% of people will not go to your burial site.
Right then I started counting the people around me. I mean, my grandma was a pillar in her community. I had never heard her say a negative thing about anyone ever .. nor heard anyone ever say anything negative about her. This woman had touched many lives … yet my count topped out at 25.
25 people were there at the end of her life to pay their respects.
Immediately I was reminded that we give way too much power to what people might think. So often we mute ourselves, our dreams, and our passions simply of what people might say or think. Or in some cases we stop and quit because those around us actually do say something critical of our new venture or lifestyle change … but are they going to be at your final resting spot. The answer more often than not is NO … especially if it rains!
So be you BOLDLY! Go after that crazy dream that’s in your gut. You get ONE LIFE … dream BIG … go BIGGER!

Yessss. We don’t need to know what other people “think” about us. Even though we all know everyone has an opinion. .
But we have the power to not LET that opinion bother us! Our opinion of ourselves matters way more. .
No one can make us feel offended by their opinions. It’s something we can turn away immediately. And like my preacher said this morning, it’s hard to take offense from someone when we are praying for them. .

So, why not make this week the week you change your life? 😍
Even if it’s just small change in your diet, like cutting out soda or sweets or doing something to get your heart pumping like going for a 30 min walk.

No, you don’t need to get up tomorrow and meal prep a weeks worth of food and then go sign up for a gym membership.
Because honestly, that would be super overwhelming 🤷🏼♀️
Allow yourself to be a beginner.
Do your research.
Set yourself some small and big (realistic) goals.

This week could be the week you completely change your life!

It was so easy to look at this 80 day journey with anxiety. But instead I chose to look at it with exhilaration. I let all the positive possibilities excite me instead of letting the negative thoughts hold me back.
AND I DID IT YA’LL.🎉🎉🎉 I started this 80-day program as soon as we returned from Mexico mid-April and I finished TODAY. I had good days, bad days, overwhelming days, too tired days, I’m awesome days, I’ve got this days and I can’t go on days. But EVERY DAY I still showed up. And I can wait to share my experience & results in more detail with you tomorrow!
