THE DETOX EFFECT 👾
It doesn't happen to everyone, but it may occur! So what is it? Why does it happen?
Coming on holiday to copious amounts of vitamin D and salt water, I assumed my skin would instantly clear of any spots or redness, and the damage caused by the cold winters days would heal. I was wrong! In fact I've broken out in more spots than before. The only physiological reason why, other than hormones, is that my body is detoxifying.
Which in turn, means I am on my way to better skin 🙌🙌 but the impurities have to come out before it gets better!
It's important to understand the body is constantly trying to detoxify itself from endogenous substances such as its own dead tissue, cholesterol and uric acid. It is also trying to eliminate exogenous substances and chemical residues from environmental pollution – everything from toxic chemicals to radiation. The body is a miraculous machine and when its operating optimally. It can repair damaged tissue and cleanse dead material out of the body as well as foreign chemical pollutants.
The liver, our powerhouse for detoxification, dumps toxins in our skin to be excreted. Without a variety of plant matter in our diets, for most of us the detoxification process is left incomplete. We need enough fruit and veg to nourish our cells, to help them engage at their optimal.
With a clean, healthy, Maldivan diet, packed full of fresh fruit and veggies, the antioxidants should help prevent secondary cell damage and the detoxification begins! 🐢🍍🥥🥑🦀🐚 #sunandsea#detox#maldives#clearskin#fruitandveggies#sustainablechanges#healthandwellness#plantbased#komandoo#paradise#wintersun
