125kg / 275lb for 8's
This looked ok visually but tonight I was feeling off😩 I was digging deep to get through these sets ..sometimes that's just what it takes 🙏 You can't expect things to fly every session 💯.. Times like these - keep your emotions together and soldier on ! .
Finally pulled 8 plates, Even if it was grindy AF 😅. Was really hoping for a double but I think I underestimated just how heavy 180kg would feel 😂, either way stoked to hit a PB, time to start building for that 200 @briancookpl @nicspillane

Everyone has it. Whether you realise it or not. .
This week was my strength testing - here is my Sumo Deadlift.
1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣kg x 3️⃣
1️⃣0️⃣5️⃣kg x 1️⃣ (this beats my previous PR at 104kg)
1️⃣0️⃣7️⃣kg x 1️⃣
And that didn’t feel too bad so then...
1️⃣1️⃣0️⃣kg x 1️⃣
💁🏼♀️Yes I was lazy and didn’t put the bar down!🙋🏼♀️
I felt as dazed as I looked in the video - never ever did I think I could do that. Pretty happy and proud of me and how far my training has come in the past 18 months.
I also managed my 1 Rep max on my squat still at 67kg - totally happy with that and working towards my new goal of 70kg x1.
Finally yesterday I benched 14kg Dumbells x6 which is also a new PR! .
That feeling of smashing PRs is incredible and I’m off on my massage course this weekend feeling like a kickass Jax!
Stay focused, keep looking forward you are stronger then you know. 💗

(I had a 12 hour work trip today and sat in a car for 6 hours 😅. I originally planned to move this training day to tomorrow but the itch the train was too strong and I ended up having a late Friday night training session. First set of deadlifts got pulled forward, last 3 sets all felt much better once I was more upright. Vids 5-7 are of my top set of squats and some back off volume. Last 3 videos are of me experimenting with a narrower stance. Overall not too bad of a session despite the fatigue.) @bradcoolyard 🎥 : @joe_does_a_pl_meet @mikewin66 @giraffelifts
And 18 year old Cat’s sumo deadlift has surpassed her conventional deadlift weights after making the shift a month back.
She also asked if she was strong enough to flip the type .
And yes... she is ! 😀💪💪
Sumo deadlift it is.
Keeping conventional volume going for a bit longer though. Even though it’s not my primary for this meet it is definitely my most valuable accessory.

Hitting a freaking wall on my deadlifts... Plus side did 5 sets of doubles at 345 first and last set and videos 1&2 felt good moved well.
3rd video 365 for a single moved well beltless so I think a PR for that.
4th video decided to jump to 400 that was. No go. Multiple reasons, fatigue from previous sets possibly, form not on point, mental block maybe?, Mobility issues maybe?? Idk I know my form still needs work and hoping with continued belt work I can make improvements.
But gonna change my approach next week and see if I can get 1 or 2 sets of 400lbs pulls for singles or doubles. If not I have a plan to hopefully help break through this damn deadlift walk so I can hit a big deadlift at some point.
Sumo deadlift before bench:
1st video: 82.5-82.5 (185kg/407lbs) 1 set of 2 reps
2nd video: 85-85 (190kg/418lbs) 1 set of 1 rep (failed attempt)
It was frustrating because you failed a lift that you really want to attempt, but failure it not a reason for me to stop lifting cause there’s always another day to get better and stronger. Never underestimate your own body and power. To all powerlifter and bodybuilder out there in the world who always believe in yourself that you could push yourself beyond your limitations, hands up and i respect all of you. .
