This creamy Golden (turmeric) Milk is giving me life. This was so easy to make and seriously tastes so comforting on this chilly, rainy afternoon 🌧. In a blender, I added 1 can full fat organic coconut milk, 10 Oz water, about 3 inches chopped turmeric root, fresh ginger or ground (I used ground because I was out of fresh, about 1 tsp), 1 tsp cinnamon, dash of black pepper (helps activate the turmeric) 1/4 tsp ground clove, 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg, 1 tsp maca, & 1/4 tsp ground vanilla bean. Blend really well for a couple minutes. I like to let it sit and marinate (so you can really taste the flavors plus it turns so much more golden) for a hour in a jar in the fridge. I then heated some up in a small pot. And sprinkled turmeric powder on top! So delicious.

A nice hot plate of food on this rainy day 🌧. I never take for granted all that I have. The holiday season is here and I encourage everyone to think about the less fortunate. Help out and give when you can. Even if you can’t afford to give money, how about a smile, a how are you? Even a big hug. Yesterday a women was holding a sign saying her husband was dead & her kids needed food. She smiled so big to everyone walking by her and held her hands in prayer 🙏🏼. I gave her money, persimmons, and a huge hug. We sat there hugging for a moment and I knew it meant a lot to her. She was so grateful. Moments like these are way better than receiving a present. Just food for thought 💜

Usually the first thing I do when I get home after being away from my house... yes make a Smoothie! Well first I unpacked then I chowed down on a green smoothie. It’s that time of the year! No more natural light food shots unless I have dinner made early. I gotta get on top of the early dinner game I guess... I don’t know why I just love the natural lighting from the sun outside for pictures. Oh well, nothing to do about it I guess but eat these Chicken Fajitas! 🔥 I love using the leftover chicken from a rotisserie to make this simple dinner. #StonegroundRecipes @summit_lady_food I like to make my own chocolate mix by melting Cacao paste, cacao butter, coconut butter, vanilla & adding in raw honey at the end. I poured some into muffin liners and let set in freezer until hard enough to add the filling. For the filling I mixed together in a bowl pumpkin purée, sprouted almond butter, & lots of pumpkin pie spice. I added a spoonful to each chocolate cup then poured over the rest of the chocolate putting back in freezer to set. I like to sprinkle chunky sea salt on top. These are worth every bite! Mmmmm.

After my horse back riding lesson that was very fun but tiring, this definitely hit the spot! This Cherry Berry Smoothie was very refreshing. I kept it simple blending frozen cherries, strawberries & blackberries, flax seeds, spinach, and this women’s blend @lostempireherbs (so good in a berry smoothie and it makes you feel energized, focused, & great for anti aging) with cashew milk. Adult PB&J. Yep this was dinner last night! I love cooking & spending time in the kitchen but I have my days where I’m over it. It’s been a busy time and I’m tired. My point is don’t let the social media world fool ya! Cool days call for warm soups like this puréed coconut winter squash soup. I used the red Kuri variety I got from the pumpkin patch @rodonifarms . I love these simple puréed soups that feel SO comforting eating & so digestible too. I sautéed a diced onion in avocado oil adding in turmeric, curry powder, cinnamon and granulated garlic sautéing and letting the flavors come out. Then I added the peeled & chopped squash (you could use any winter squash variety) to the pot, 1 can of full fat coconut milk and 16 oz of water or broth. Bring to a boil & let simmer until squash is tender. I used my immersion blender to blend the soup in the pot. Adding in salt & pepper to taste. Good morning friends, happy Sunday! This is a face of a tired mama with her big cold brew smoothie in hand. It’s been single parenting over here because it’s Harvest time. That means Dads (Brian) working a lot and gone for most of the day. We see him briefly in the morning and maybe a goodnight kiss at bedtime. It’s all good though I got a yoga class in this morning. Now I’m cleaning,trying to keep the kids healthy (lots of sickness going around their school) and organizing/cooking for the new week to come.
