#fridayfitness Ever since I’ve relocated to the North - I decided to train a little differently - function over form.
Thank you to the input of my colleague who’s a professional baseball player - Mr Kevin Johnson - who taught me to focus more on functional training as opposed to ‘ego training’ 😅 as he calls it.

Soo earlier this week I went to the gym and was finally comfortable enough to wear shorts! 😅I know it might seem silly, but I truly was never comfortable enough to do everrr of going to the gym for 3 years I've been going. Loving my body more than ever before and being my healthiest, makes a hugee difference towards my mindset today than if you asked me about my health journey 8 months ago! 😶 Progress is progress, learn to love yourself and be proud of the small improvements! 💓

Strange as it may seem... there is no magic number on the scale that will make YOU happy or healthy. Each person has a happy place, and they will know what it is when they get there. I have been very happy with my progress this year. FIFTY POUNDS is a huge accomplishment and I have never lost that much weight at once! I am happy in my own skin and I actually enjoy taking photos of myself! There were a few years when I avoided the camera at all costs. I felt old and fat and unhealthy and tired. Ironically, I am still bigger than I was the LAST time I lost weight, but I'm so much happier because I know it will stick this time. How do I know this? Because of the PEOPLE. In the past I did it on my own, in secret and in shame. I didn't share my journey. I didn't seek out people who could help me get over my hurdles, or who needed to hear my story. We are all so isolated these days and while social media "appears" to bring us all together, I don't really think it does, unless we are HONEST about our good, bad and ugly.
I have 50 more pounds to lose and 7 months to do it. The truth is that I need you, probably more than you need me. I NEED to share the fact that I ate half a bag of Ruffles yesterday, and that I committed to drinking a gallon of water today. I NEED you to see me work out at 11pm because I flaked on my morning workout. I just need to be real with you... Whether you need me to or not.
This is leg 2 of my journey, and I am ballsy enough to start it in the most decadent month of the year. Are you in?
