🔉☄️New built NS10’s anyone? @chrislordalge and @avantonepro revive the little monitor that could as the CLA-10. If you like mixing vocals and despise bass, this is just for you. Main difference is a pressed rather than lapped cone. Other than that, they’re passive and look just like the real deal.
Seriously... if you haven’t listened to a pair of @adam_audio monitors, please do so. While it’s a given for audio suites, it’s even more applicable for today’s video edit suites, when SOOOO many people are opting to mix their own audio in their video NLE these days. If you’re not using true professional reference studio monitors at the MOST critical part of your audio chain, you’re 100% mixing audio with coloration. To my video friends, think of it this way: if you grade your image in, let’s say, a very red room, chances are your grade will look bluish. Or, if you grade on an uncalibrated monitor, you’ll compensate for that miscalibration by adding/reducing HSL in parts of the image. Or, like trying to grade an image with a permanent LUT that bumps up HSL in one zone and cuts HSL in another. Likewise, if you’re mixing with home theater speakers, computer speakers, or heaven forbid... Beats By Dre headphones or earbuds, you will have a horribly colored audio mix to compensate. True calibrated studio reference monitors output a more flat sonic spectrum with reduced/omitted “peaks and valleys” in the frequency output curves, similar in nature to a calibrated reference display monitor (like @flandersscientific). With the T, AX, and S series from ADAM Audio, post-production people now have a complete spectrum of options to fit their budget without sacrificing quality. Seriously, if you’re tight on budget but want to step up your audio game with reference studio monitors, check out the T5V and T7V monitors. As I’ve always said (quoting myself here), “if you’re not serious about your audio, you’re not serious about your video”. I have a MASSIVE comparison article on my blog on these monitors for more info.
