Hump Day Motivation!
In the past I would let a few hard days in a row be my excuse. And because I know what it feels like to give up, I WILL drink my 💥Mommy Juice💥 and go push play! ❤️ Each step a child takes that leads to a fall is actually the criteria for that perfect moment when they take their first step. ❤️ The ingredients to perfection ARE the mistakes!
Angelo The Motivator ❤️ Life throws ALL of us curve balls and I for one needed to hear this today! If you want to know how curvy those balls are over here, I just had to check my phone to make sure it actually is Hump Day! 🤦🏻♀️😂 Go get your game face on!👊🏼
And after practicing teaching by recording myself teaching Sun Salutation A (Surya Namaskar A), I decided to do my own practice led by @vytasyoga on @udayayoga. I mean, if you want to teach something, mustn’t you consistently DO whatever you are teaching??? 😉🙏🏼 #practicewhatyoupreach
I am on that struggle bus today! I didn't get a lot of sleep last night and I feel super bloated today....2 very good excuses I could have used to not work out... But thats all they are - EXCUSES! I pressed play and got it done. I feel so much better that I did it too. I have energy again and even feel a little less bloated. If I would have given in to those excuses...I would still feel like shit...instead, I'm ready to take on the rest of the day 😁
This is a life style change not a diet plan. Pressing play and working out is me showing love to myself. ✌💜
Four-Limbed Staff Pose .. So excited to start Liift4 this October & get some crazy 💪!! ..
Last September was when I joined Beachbody & I'm so thankful for discovering this platform. I was reinvigorated to step it up this September, accomplish goals I set for summer & get my strength back+some .. On a not so positive note... today's workout put me in such an angry space I had to wind down with 10 minutes of yoga & Stingray Ambiance in 4K ❤ .. #foundmyhappyplace#joinmeonmyjourney#fitnessjourney
#wcw honors go out to our Client of the Week, Patrice K.
Patrice was selected because of her amazing dedication and progress. When she first started with me I handed her a 5 pound weight for squats and she looked at me like I was crazy. Now she’s slinging around 25s, 30s, and 35s like it ain’t no thang.
“Do you exercise your butt so much because you don’t have any boobs?” some idiot dude asked me. 🤦🏻♀️🙄 “Do you drive a big car to overcompensate for a tiny penis?” I replied. 😂 sheesh! lol! There are so many reasons I love leg day which has nothing to do with being a proud member of the #ittybittytittycommittee ! lol
I love leg day because it makes my legs strong! I think lower body strength is so important for overall health! Comment below why you love leg day!
What helped me the most to gain more glute muscle/strength was to be in a calorie surplus to gain muscle (which for me was eating around 2,000 calories). Usually when I’m in a calorie deficit, I decrease mass overall, so when trying to gain in my glutes it’s better for me to make sure I’m eating enough protein and healthy fat. If you eat fewer calories than you burn, you can lift very heavy weight, and most likely not gain a lot of muscle mass. I like to do a variation of workouts, both high rep/low weight and low rep/heavy weight. But the majority of my workouts tend to be on the low rep/heavier weight side.
Her are my all-time favorite glute exercises (in no particular order): RDLs
Weighted kickbacks (or you can use a band)
Another fun tip that I do is to have a booty band at work and do seated hip abductions as I sit in my chair! That means you place the band above your knees while seated and separate your knees away from each other and then back to start. You can actually build a booty while sitting at the office! I’m going to make a video of this for my friend @lawandrice. Double tap if you want me to post it publicly! 🤗 #strongereveryday
I had 0% motivation this morning...
I had 100 excuses...
Then I remembered something.... replace your excuses with results!
The sweatiest 30 minute workout EVER!!!! I may be biased, but working out at home is WAY BETTER than working out in the gym! (I tried the whole gym thing for way too long and NEVER got the same results!) 1. I don't have to leave the house, obviously!
2. Gym hours don't dictate when I can workout
3. I don't have to worry about how I look when I workout! (sweaty hot mess!) 4. Germs.....Need I say more? You know not everyone wipes down the machines!
5. Recovery is just a few steps away in my kitchen!
6. No one can see or hear the grunts, noises, or faces I make!
7. I can literally roll out of bed and push play!
8. My personal trainer is my BFF! Love me some Shaun T!
9. When I'm done, I can sprawl out on the floor and die for a minute! And then run to the shower!
10. It's only 30 minutes and my kiddos can play in their PJs while I workout!
Whatever you do, go get moving on this beautiful day!😎
Perk #82 of having the day off from teaching? I get to see all of our West Coast ladies on today’s miracle morning! Basically we all hop on a video call to get our work/workouts in together (don’t worry, everyone’s muted so you don’t hear the lifting grunts or curses at our trainer 😂 )
Then I’m heading to get my nails done 💅 cause it’s the only way I don’t bite them.
Side note: add pumpkin to your vanilla shakes to get in an extra sneaky vegetable 🎃 LMK if you try it 👍🏼
If you have the time or energy to complain, write negative comments or binge watch Netflix, then you have time to be grateful, make someone smile or find ways to grow. We are all given the same 24 hours in a day, but we as a whole need to start using them in a kinder, more present way 🌷
