This reminds me of a client, Greg.
Tall, strong but weak core muscles, poor posture and balance.

He worked in construction, hard working. 
He had posture problems which caused shoulder and low back problems. 
Every workout I would remind him to bring his shoulders up and correct his posture. We worked on  building strength his strength.

Habits are hard to break and building posture takes time. He would get so frustrated and would tell me, " you need to invent something to make me stand straight.

What helped me the most to gain more glute muscle/strength was to be in a calorie surplus to gain muscle (which for me was eating around 2,000 calories). Usually when I’m in a calorie deficit, I decrease mass overall, so when trying to gain in my glutes it’s better for me to make sure I’m eating enough protein and healthy fat. If you eat fewer calories than you burn, you can lift very heavy weight, and most likely not gain a lot of muscle mass. I like to do a variation of workouts, both high rep/low weight and low rep/heavy weight. But the majority of my workouts tend to be on the low rep/heavier weight side.

Hip thrusters
Abductor machine
Weighted kickbacks (or you can use a band)
Kettlebell squats
Sumo squats

Another fun tip that I do is to have a booty band at work and do seated hip abductions as I sit in my chair! That means you place the band above your knees while seated and separate your knees away from each other and then back to start. You can actually build a booty while sitting at the office! The sweatiest 30 minute workout EVER!!!! I may be biased, but working out at home is WAY BETTER than working out in the gym! (I tried the whole gym thing for way too long and NEVER got the same results!) 1. I don't have to leave the house, obviously!

2. Gym hours don't dictate when I can workout

3. I don't have to worry about how I look when I workout! (sweaty hot mess!) 4. Germs.....Need I say more? You know not everyone wipes down the machines!

5. Recovery is just a few steps away in my kitchen!

6. No one can see or hear the grunts, noises, or faces I make! 
7. I can literally roll out of bed and push play!

8. My personal trainer is my BFF! Love me some Shaun T!

9. When I'm done, I can sprawl out on the floor and die for a minute! And then run to the shower!

10. It's only 30 minutes and my kiddos can play in their PJs while I workout!

Whatever you do, go get moving on this beautiful day!😎

Perk #82 of having the day off from teaching? I get to see all of our West Coast ladies on today’s miracle morning! Basically we all hop on a video call to get our work/workouts in together (don’t worry, everyone’s muted so you don’t hear the lifting grunts or curses at our trainer 😂 )
Then I’m heading to get my nails done 💅 cause it’s the only way I don’t bite them.
