Here's a throwback to when i was 12 weeks pregnant and feeling bloated and tired and yuck! But i sucked it up for just 20-30mins a day to do some movement and im so glad that i did! I have to say i was definitely not this disciplined with my first pregnancy and its really amazing how physically better i feel this time around compared to last! Dont get me wrong, the last 6 weeks has still been a rough ride but getting back into training is 10 times easier, i dont have back pain and i have so much more energy! 
It doesn't have to be anything too hard or strenuous! Just a little bit every day is really worth it! 😊

1.	One arm row: Make sure back is straight and core is switched on. Neck should be in a neutral position – x10 each side

2.	Squats with 3 pulses - x10
.
3.	Front raises, Lateral Raises and Shoulder Press – x5-10 of each
.
4.	Torso tilts: Make sure you are bending from the hip joint and your back stays straight throughout the whole movement. Strong through the legs and strong through the core –x6 each leg

5.	Russian Twists: Don’t lean back too far and make sure lower back is straight and supported by having core switched on the whole time –x10 each side

Remember, you should make sure you have proper core stabilization BEFORE attempting more advanced core exercises such as this one. This means mastering stabilization core exercises that don’t require much movement throughout the core such as isometric plank holds. There are so many ways to regress this exercise:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
→Ditch the ball⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
→Only move your lower body⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Be sure that your back is always in contact with the floor and you’re not arching! The core is the center of all movement, don’t forget to train it 💪🏽

While it’s true that I’ve lost some fat and gained some muscle between these two pictures, that’s not the transformation I care about here.

In the first picture, I was struggling to adjust to having two small kids running around, feeling like I was constantly failing one of them, and feeling terrible in my body. Debilitating back spasms were routine, low-grade pain was just a fact of life, and I was making decisions about how to move my body based on fear of that pain.

Now, fear of pain doesn’t stop me. I’m not bulletproof, and sometimes I choose movement knowing that there’s a risk that it’ll aggravate something, but for the most part, I can do what I want, when I want (recently, dancing up a storm with my husband at a wedding). I use my knowledge of strength and mobility to armor myself against problems, and if I do have pain or muscle spasms, I have a full toolbox of strategies for dealing with it.

It is so very true that abs are made in the kitchen. That statement can’t be argued!
If you want abs or a flatter stomach, 🛑 stop looking for workouts that target the abs and watch what your curling into your mouth 😉 
BUT training your core is important to add to your workout routine for other reasons like:
Balance
Stability
Low back pain
Posture
Improving the quality of other lifts
Improving how your legs and arms work
Better breathing habits
Run better
Reduce the risk of injury.
Just to name a few!
Tradition crunches aren’t very effective. If don’t improperly they can do more harm than good!

So here is a core strengthening workout that hits the entire core from lower abs to obliques and low back, which is part of your core!
Sets X Reps
1. Hanging leg lifts 3x15
2. Roll outs 3x6
3. Side plank dips with weight 3x10/side 
4. Weighted Reverse Crunch 3x15 
5. Elevated glute bridge 3x12
Wanna kick up the workout a notch?
Add in some HIIT cardio!
Walk 1 min Run 1 min repeat 5 times for a total of 10 mins!
HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training which is proven to be great for fat loss!!

Your core is the muscles around your trunk and pelvis. A strong core is sooo important not only for fitness but for every day tasks. It needs to be trained to achieve balance and stability for your entire body. Neglecting to train your core could lead to poor posture, lower back pain and injuries. I personally train core twice per week. Here are some of my favorite movements. I did these until failure, back to back with 20 second rest in between for 3 sets. -reverse crunches (control on the way down, don’t let your butt slam down)
-russian twist (chest out, shoulders back, slow)
-deadbugs (pull your belly button to the ground)

Core work and being plus-size can be challenging. I’ve got some extra fluff that in some moves has actually made it uncomfortable for me. But the goal is for us to just keep doing it as best as you can with correct form. It’s okay to modify if you have to. But don’t be like the old me that would skip core because “who was going to see it anyways right now?” .
We need a strong core to support us doing all the other moves we do. We need a strong core to help us do our everyday life with less aches and pains. As you get leaner and stronger you’ll be able to do more. And that’s what this is about! Increasing your abilities to keep challenging yourself you got this! True story... when I decided to do a triathlon race, I couldn’t swim!.. kind of a big issue if you want to race a triathlon.

So with the help and Coaching of Stevo @core__active I was taught (many many hours, most of which I didn’t enjoy) and I learned how to swim so I could achieve my goal.

Long story short - I then went on to compete in open water triathlon races and even an aquathlon here and there.

Don’t be afraid to set your goals HIGH. - Don’t be afraid to START something new - True story... when I decided to do a triathlon race, I couldn’t swim!.. kind of a big issue if you want to race a triathlon. - So with the help and Coaching of Stevo @core__active I was taught (many many hours, most of which I didn’t enjoy) and I learned how to swim so I could achieve my goal. - Long story short - I then went on to compete in open water triathlon races and even an aquathlon here and there. - Brake down barriers. - No goal is too big to be achieved - If you can put your mind to it you can achieve it. - Think outside the box and dare to believe. - What goals would you love to achieve? AT HOME AB CIRCUIT 🏡

HIIII 👋🏼 long time no talk!! i’ve been busy taking my last CPA exam & now getting ready to move in just 3 DAYS 😱 my gym membership has ended & ya girl is not paying $$ daily to get into the gym lol YOU CAN WORKOUT ANYWHERE!! i plan on taking long walks outside, doing some HIIT, some abs & other at-home workouts until i join a new gym in my new town! so speaking of, here’s a quick at home ab circuit i did today 👇🏼

1️⃣ foam roller pike ups
2️⃣ foam roller knee tucks 
3️⃣ hand to foot ball pass (or any object lol used a random football i found in my basement)
4️⃣ high plank knee to elbow
5️⃣ v-sit in & outs
6️⃣ v-sit hold
**complete each exercise for 30 seconds with no rest in between & then rest 1 min in between circuits! complete the circuit as many times as you’d like!**

always keep in mind that abs are made in the kitchen. aka it doesn’t matter how often you train your abs, if your body fat % is not low enough, your abs will not be visible. THAT IS NOT TO SAY THAT YOU SHOULD TRY TO DIP DOWN TO THAT LOW OF A BODY FAT PERCENTAGE. to be that lean 24/7 is not necessarily healthy. everyone’s abs will be visible at different body fat percentages, it all depends on your body! having abs does not mean that you are “fit” either, let’s just clear that up rn. tbh i could give zero f*cks if i have abs or not, but i do care about having a strong core bc that IS important. okay that’s all thanks for coming to my Ted Talk 😌

Love doing Russian twists for strengthening my core and making those obliques pop. I use a plate when there’s no medicine balls available, you can also use a dumbbell. I do them feet raised and lean back so I’m at a 45 degree angle, but you can also do them with your feet grounded (under something that won’t move or have a partner hold them). How do you like to do your Russian twists?
