The first clip is what we will call an ‘intellectual’ approach to movement. We have a well thought out, strategic movement pattern that we execute slowly and with intention. The second, we can call ‘I’m an emotional wreck and I’m flailing in my body without recognition or appreciation for any kind of intention and just want to get this done’.
Mild exaggeration, but it’s a good analogy. When we have a disconnect between our thinking/feeling bodies and our physical/moving bodies, we tend to let our movements fall apart. Our bodies are not segregated or sliced into pieces. Our brain and bodies work synonymously with each other. If you’re not feeling so hot or form is failing, pause...dial it back and think about what you are doing. Don’t just go through the motions because you feel like you should, aim to do it from a mind-body connection that insists in you a confidence. Leave the gym or anywhere else feeling like you tried your best, you learned something new and it added some kind of value to you. It translates to everything. Carry yourself around like you know what you’re doing, even if you don’t. Or! Ask us how we can help! MOVE WITH INTENTION!

Stupidly decided to go for 100kg last week and failed miserably which not only pissed me off but ruined my confidence and work hasn’t helped either. Took a few days out and back at it today but leaving stupid decisions like that alone and felt good to be back. Going to focus on slowly building it up and not doing a particular weight unless I’m very confident that I’ll pull it off. Every minute on the minute (EMOM) can be a very effective method for getting your workload done in a shorter period of time
Here we have 5×1 back squats performed EMOM.
Essentially 5 sets done in under 5 minutes.
Now, if you're wanting to keep your rest periods a little longer pair your main strength movement for the session with 1 or 2 supplementary/accessory movements
For example - EMOM × 5 rounds
A1: Back Squat × 1 @ 80-90%
A2: Pull Up × 5
A3: Deadbugs × 12
A series like this performed EMOM for 5 rounds will take you 15 minutes. Simple, but effective.

The greatest legacy one can pass on to one's children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one's life, but rather a legacy of character and faith. All these walls that keep us from loving each other as one family or one race - racism, religion, where we grew up, whatever, class, socioeconomic what makes us be so selfish and prideful, what keeps us from wanting to help the next man, what makes us be so focused on a personal legacy as opposed to the entire legacy of a race . In the white community, the path to a more perfect union means acknowledging that what ails the African-American community does not just exist in the minds of black people; that the legacy of discrimination - and current incidents of discrimination, while less overt than in the past - are real and must be addressed. A friend of mine said something powerful at his grandfather's funeral. He said that the greatest lesson from his grandfather's life was that he died empty, because he accomplished everything he wanted, with no regrets. I think that, along with leaving a legacy, would be the greatest sign of success.
