Today was upperbody and I added in some unilateral training to hit my core more and mix things up a little - I love unilateral training, it's full of funness!! 😁
Simply put, unilateral training is using one leg or arm instead of two and some of the benefits include:

▶️Corrects strength imbalances.
▶️Helps to improve muscle symmetry.

UPDATE —- I have been using the CGM for around 6 days now, in terms of the adhesive it’s still very much intact and hasn’t given me any irritation or reaction. This was something I was worried about as I always had this problem with the Libre. In terms of the accuracy of the #medtruma6 it is questionable. The first two days I had reliable results however the last five days the readings have been completely off. For example the app would tell me that my sugars were 6.5mmol however when using my actual machine my sugars were actually in their 20s! This was a huge difference and has since made me question the reliability. At times the sensor cuts out and loses connection and then once a connection has been found will attempt to read my sugar..I haven’t expected the sugars to be exact but they are off by quite a bit and this is even when I have calibrated twice a day. I will be reporting it back to #medtrum and see what they suggest. The SCM, a rotator of the neck
The Sternocleidomastoid is just that – a muscle that attaches to the sternum, clavical, and mastoid process. Because of these attachments, it may also theoretically help lift the ribcage and can be considered a respiratory muscle as well. Tightness here can hinder breathing and lead to dysfunctions in the C or T spine, as well as headaches.

❌🛑If you have a history of heart disease such a pulmonary embolism or DVT it can be dangerous and dislodge a thrombus and cause a stroke so do not do this release!!🛑❌
.
1. turn your neck to one side to allow your SCM to pop out
2. Lightly grip it and turn your neck away then back towards it and laterally flex neck as well. Do this slowly and work up the muscle. Stay longer on tender areas.

SCM Stretch
.
-	Proper alignment, sitting up tall and draw in the core.
-	Anchor the same side arm under your seat
-	Extend the neck to look up, side bend your neck to the opposite side, and rotate the neck to look up a bit more.
-	Tuck in the chin (this makes a big difference for me!)
-	Use your other hand to gently press on the head. -	Breathe out to intensify the stretch
-	Hold for 30 seconds or more, repeat 2-3 times on each side.

If one is tighter than the other.  Try spending a bit more time.

Kids birthday parties........what’s the big deal?? 30 or so kids with all their friends, easily bribed the the prospect of cake and party bags, living their best life!! What’s not to love right? (Other than trying to remove said child, probably suitably high on sugar by now, from best life scenario and willingly take them home at the end). Well for a child who has learning difficulty, and whose gross motor and fine motor skills are not where his age equivalent peers are, who has hyper mobility and some sensory processing issues, there’s a lot more consideration for us, we really have to think about what the party is, how he will cope, and a little part aswell (which sounds terribly selfish) will we cope?  We’re getting to the stage now where Kushs age equivalent friends are starting to enjoy slightly different parties now, and growing out of soft play and bouncy castle parties.  Which is fine and as you’d expect, but it just means that due to this natural progression unfortunately it’s not going to be as inclusive as other environments we expose him to, (like school settings for example - where they have a legal obligation to make “reasonable adjustment” for our child.) The reality is - the real world have no legal obligation to anything and we can’t protect him in every instance. 
So if you take it back to right to the bare bones, I used to feel really happy and grateful when Kush got birthday invites, because he’d been thought of and wanted and that’s acceptance.  As he’s grown, I see other parents able to take the natural step back in terms of their involvement and at parties and can sit on the sidelines and have a nice chat with everyone else.  Well for me, I had my first experience of this at a party on Saturday!  There was an entertainer, to which my gut reaction was dread as I wondered how he was going to sit for so long, how he’d interact in such close proximity to other kids he didn’t know....I thought I was going to have to be on his tail the entire time.  I couldn’t have been more wrong! He sat all the way through unsupported, and joined in everything that he was able to and I just had “eyes” on him just as I did Keira.***CONTINUED IN COMMENTS
