First things first 1) nye 57.8kg — was just trying to love myself as a super thin mess 2) July 62kg 3) sept 64kg (pr’d my push press at bodyweight) 4) this morning 66.2kg babbbbyyy

SOO One year ago today I walked into @takanoweightlifting and a routine power clean rocked my world so hard I think I’ve actually blocked out exactly how much pain I was in, for a couple weeks I couldn’t drive without crying. I could move about half an inch in each direction and work was so unbearable at times I couldn’t even fake a smile. It was a long few months ahead — .
.
It took 4 months : 50+ visits, 2 epidurals, a nerve block, and reading dr. Sarnos book to get any sense of normalcy back and 2 months later I shimmied my way back on to the platform! .
.
Listen it was/ is a slow come back... April I played with the barbell, May, June, July I slowly added weight as I perfected technique and in August I started somewhat of a program (3/4 days a week) and last month I just about hit my old maxes (one so close to lifetime pr)— I’ve had a set back the last couple weeks but I’ll be ready on October 28 (18 months almost to the day since my last comp) to dive back into the world of competitive weightlifting! .

It’s one of those if you want to read a novel please continue 😏 : . . First things first 1) nye 57.8kg — was just trying to love myself as a super thin mess 2) July 62kg 3) sept 64kg (pr’d my push press at bodyweight) 4) this morning 66.2kg babbbbyyy . . SOO One year ago today I walked into @takanoweightlifting and a routine power clean rocked my world so hard I think I’ve actually blocked out exactly how much pain I was in, for a couple weeks I couldn’t drive without crying. I could move about half an inch in each direction and work was so unbearable at times I couldn’t even fake a smile. It was a long few months ahead — . . It took 4 months : 50+ visits, 2 epidurals, a nerve block, and reading dr. Sarnos book to get any sense of normalcy back and 2 months later I shimmied my way back on to the platform! . . Listen it was/ is a slow come back... April I played with the barbell, May, June, July I slowly added weight as I perfected technique and in August I started somewhat of a program (3/4 days a week) and last month I just about hit my old maxes (one so close to lifetime pr)— I’ve had a set back the last couple weeks but I’ll be ready on October 28 (18 months almost to the day since my last comp) to dive back into the world of competitive weightlifting! . . Знали бы вы, сколько людей так и не научается ни отжиматься ни подтягиваться за годы(!!!) тренировок. Если спросить у них прогрессируют ли они, все до единого скажут что да. Ну, а мы, наверное, скажем, что это способ держать свои стандарты низко, чтобы проще жить. Проблема в том, что человеческий подход един везде. И мне лично не хотелось бы иметь ничего общего с такими людьми: ни в отношениях, ни по работе, нигде. Только проблемы в мире появляются от низких стандартов, на мой взгляд. Подходить к своему прогрессу с точки зрения соревновательного Кроссфита - это улучшать здоровье через повышение стандартов. 🏋
Сколько выходов надо? Сколько я должен присесть, чтоб столько вырывать? Как же мне восстановить плечи под гимнастику 6 дней в неделю? Как же кушать, чтобы улучшить вес для неё же? Как найти время для растяжки, чтобы не поломаться от всего этого и двигаться эффективнее? Каким должен быть мой 2k row, чтоб соответствовать остальному? 🏋
Атлет начинает задумываться об этом, когда участвует в полноценных соревнованиях. Золотой стандарт тут - хотя бы начать с Open. И дальше сравнивать свой перформанс от года к году, улучшаясь, делая выводы и, как следствие, оздоравливаясь. 🏋
PS. Я тут оздоравливалась на 8ках juggernaut. И кстати, ты был прав год назад @kornushkov надо было увеличивать раб. макс; - что сейчас, слава богу, получается )))

I’m learning more and more how important taking the time for mobility is. Rolling out, time with the lacrosse ball and stretching are vital to someone like me with a lot of issues. I’m becoming more aware that I can’t just jump in guns blazing and not expect to over exert my self. Proper prep and post mobility is everything and HAS TO BE DONE ✅. I’m still sore and working on recovery and healing but I’m still getting in the gym and accomplishing what I’m able to. #refusetogiveup #strangecrossfit

Продолжая эту нормально отмусоленную в сетях тему прошлых недель о травмах соревновательного спорта и здоровье, отмечу следующее. Не отсутствие спортивных травм показывает здоровье. А функциональные возможности тела. Именно этот запас, достигаемый тренировками, будет спасать вас от смерти в перегрузках. Любых перегрузках: физических и моральных, стрессах другими словами. Начиная от ДТП, заканчивая разводом. Поэтому утрировано можно сказать что хороший, ровно развитый КФ атлет и с одним плечом, например, здоровее многих "нетравмированных" представителей офисного планктона. То же самое справедливо по спине, например... А травмы - это плохо конечно, они замедляют наработку здоровья. Но не надо страхом их или другими внутренними конфликтами оспаривать пользу правильного спорта. ☝️🤓

To check and exercise my understanding of what I do as a coach. And as I predicted it took a year to get here. And that's an achievement. I felt goosebumps telling how good performance at Nancy should feel. Athletes mostly focused on the timer. But it's not the best way to push beyond your own limits. If you admit that time is good you're likely more relaxed than needed. If you realized that the time is bad you unlikely fight going further. So, best option is to focus on yourself and know how it should feel. I got my goosebumps because I started feeling it 😂🤷‍♀️ ----------------------------
Я часто покрываюсь мурашками, рассказывая о Кроссфит ивентах или атлетах. Как и в этот раз, рассказывая ребяткам, как будет чувствоваться Нэнси, если делать хорошо. И для меня всегда загадка, когда именно будут мурашки. А ведь это подсознание, которое очень связано с телесным, прорывается наружу. Причём наши интуиция - это во многом, если не полностью, накопленный подсознанием опыт. И по реакциям тела можно анализировать свой любой выбор, много раз за день. И всегда выбирать по сердцу. Выбирать иначе нельзя - будем не счастливы. Наша проблема в заглушении этого древнего и безотказного механизма. В попытках "уйти от темы", прекратить неприятный разговор. В старании заставить себя не слышать свой внутренний, часто неудобный голос. Вот удивительность мурашек для меня - что неожиданно. Мне кажется, что ничего особенного не говорю. А у тела (и подсознания) встают дыбом волосы. И причём я довольно осознанно, много лет, работаю над своей цельностью. Не ухожу ни от каких тем. Не подавляю неприятные вещи. И все ещё очень мало знаю о своём внутреннем, выходит по мурашкам. А большинству людей это ещё нужнее, как мне кажется. Вот и будем продолжать эту тему. Истинного Я и честности с собой. 😉

I got my goosebumps because I started feeling it 😂🤷‍♀️ ---------------------------- Я часто покрываюсь мурашками, рассказывая о Кроссфит ивентах или атлетах. Как и в этот раз, рассказывая ребяткам, как будет чувствоваться Нэнси, если делать хорошо. И для меня всегда загадка, когда именно будут мурашки. А ведь это подсознание, которое очень связано с телесным, прорывается наружу. Причём наши интуиция - это во многом, если не полностью, накопленный подсознанием опыт. И по реакциям тела можно анализировать свой любой выбор, много раз за день. И всегда выбирать по сердцу. Выбирать иначе нельзя - будем не счастливы. Наша проблема в заглушении этого древнего и безотказного механизма. В попытках "уйти от темы", прекратить неприятный разговор. В старании заставить себя не слышать свой внутренний, часто неудобный голос. Вот удивительность мурашек для меня - что неожиданно. Мне кажется, что ничего особенного не говорю. А у тела (и подсознания) встают дыбом волосы. И причём я довольно осознанно, много лет, работаю над своей цельностью. Не ухожу ни от каких тем. Не подавляю неприятные вещи. И все ещё очень мало знаю о своём внутреннем, выходит по мурашкам. А большинству людей это ещё нужнее, как мне кажется. Вот и будем продолжать эту тему. I was really worried about cutting but with RP I ended up eating 1,000 calories more a day! That means for so long I was under eating and my body was holding onto the fat as long as possible! Give your body what it needs at the time it needs it and see the results. 8wks- 10# down and strength the same.

255# isn’t a PR, but it’s the heaviest I’ve done since injuring my back/hip. Progress is progress even if you aren’t where you feel you should be. Keep pushing. .
