When I go on stage I feel like I become a whole different person. It's the time when I can let out all my frustrations, all my anxieties and basically any pent-up emotion that I have inside. But it's not a conscious thing... when the music is playing, I shake to it and dance to it, and it just becomes completely natural. And by the end of it, when the show is over, I don't even realise it's been that long. That's the greatest high you can have.. playing for people, especially when people are dancing and enjoying it. When the audience is giving that energy back to you, that's the best feeling ever. Probably one of my favourite things to do. ⠀
I want to make a living out of my music. It's the dream. I just want to be able to write my songs and play. I don't expect to be rich or famous, because the music I listen to and the music I like to make is very far removed from what most people in the mainstream enjoy listening to. But that's completely fine! As long as there is one person listening to my music and genuinely enjoying themselves, I'll play to one person." ⠀
While I was transcribing this interview I had to stop a few times and take a breath. I felt like crying and smiling at the same time. This all grown up guy in the picture is not someone we came across on the streets. Sergio and I remember him humming when he was a child. We witnessed his passion for music come to life, listened to his first songs, went to see him playing at his first gig. His story is part of our story, the best part of it, by the way. ⠀
It is always emotional to watch Bruno on stage. And it was beautiful to listen to him talking about his great passion in life. Everybody has a story, this was our son's.⠀
1/2⠀ "I feel my passion for music was born on the day that I first listened to the song 'Blew' by Nirvana. I was ten or eleven years old. It was like nothing I've ever heard before. I realised that music doesn't have to be a certain way. And it is not like I loved the song when I first heard it, it just blew my mind, I was shocked! I was thinking - this is crazy! And for two years I listened to nothing but Nirvana. ⠀
Over time I began growing my music taste and just listening to different things and now when I listen to music I try to go for things that I haven't heard before or I listen for techniques that I haven't paid attention to. I like to gather all that information and implement it in my own music. When I started playing guitar, like most players, I started with covers, just learning other people's songs, mostly Nirvana again. After a while, I realised I had enough knowledge from learning those songs that I could start making my own. ⠀
Because I never learnt music theory, when I started playing it was just trial and error, and see what sounds good and what doesn't. I've been learning all the frets of the guitar not by the names of the notes, but just by remembering what to play. So, over time, I eventually got really good at improvisation. Now when I play live in one of my bands, we go on stage without having any previous setlist or idea of what we are going to do. We go up there and start playing, and we listen to each other and it's always different! And I think that's the magic of music, that's the same magic that I felt when I first listened to that Nirvana song. Music can be fresh, can be something new each time. Sometimes you see a band playing the same song every night. They are on autopilot, they know every single second of the song... I like when everything is unpredictable, and if there is a wrong note, we just play it again until it's not wrong anymore. That's what music is to me. ⠀

My 2 weekend break is over and it’s back to it today with the wedding of J + M today over at @butleypriory - I’ve had a peek at the styling - let’s just say I’m going to be in my element! Very much looking forward to it - just look at their connection!
The mouth of the just shall meditate wisdom
And his language shall be spoken in judgment
Blessed is he who suffers temptation
Since he, with approval, shall receive the crown of life
Lord, fire divine, have mercy
Oh how holy
Oh, lily of chastity!
Lord, fire by divine, have mercy
Oh how sacred
Oh, How serene
Oh! Lily of chastity
Friday introduction time 💕
I am Caitlin Elizabeth, owner and lead photographer for LOVE ALWAYS, Memories!! 1. I am a new mother to a sweet baby boy💙 Let’s get real- He’s my boss 💯 and my daily routine revolves around him. Luckily, I have a wonderful village and can call any of them to keep him when I have weddings /sessions!
2. I have declared this summer the summer of the braid! So if you see me, most likely my hair will look like the picture above 💁🏼♀️💁🏼♀️ and it’s mainly because my hair has not been this long since high school! I love it, but my boss takes sooo much of my time and energy, I hardly ever have time to finish blow drying it AND style it!! (Oh p.s. it’s super thick - like realllly thick- and blow drying takes 45 minutes solid 😐
3. I already have as many weddings booked next year as I do this year currently 🤗🤗. I cannot tell you how much it makes me jump for joy to meet, get to know, and watch you and your other have the best day of yalls lives!! I love all of my couples, and I always strive to make sure your day runs as smoothly as possible!! So, basically I am a wedding planner/organizer as well! If your day runs smoothly it makes my job as a photographer so much easier!! You are relaxed and actually enjoying your day, rather than having stresses like one vendor or another not knowing what time things need to be in place, etc 😉! ((The romper/ pantsuit I’m wearing in the picture is one of my favorites!!! It makes me look like a cow, because the legs are so wide, but it is sooo comfy! I wore it last summer for a wedding when I was 20 weeks preggers and you couldn’t even tell- that’s how big and flowy it is, and bonus doesn’t show sweat👏🏻👏🏻 @anthro_alabama )) .
