“We do not write to be understood. We write in order to understand.” ~ C. Day Lewis
This is why I journal. To help me figure out my why. To release the words so that they may inform me. I write in order to understand.
This is what’s we do in Journal Circle. Use our writing to discover more of the bits about ourselves.
Hey y’all! Journal Circle is back! We’ll circle together for 5 sessions, the last Friday of every month. With prompts and a few creative exercises we’ll write and laugh and share and, best of all, we’ll create a community of kindreds.
Writing for me is about release. There’s something about the act of putting pen to paper that the brain responds to. Typing out or recording an audio is just not the same.
It’s the sweeping motion of your hand and the scratchiness of a favorite pen across the paper that connects to your brain in a way that opens up the floodgates and has you writing what you need to hear. Cause I believe there’s more about each of us that we need to know.
Click the link in my profile to join us. We start Friday, July 27th, 11am PDT.
Go on, go click.
P.S. .....Journal Circle is FREE but registration is required.

Venturing into new territory. I just made it to Oslo with @canonnordic where I’ll be doing my very first talk - at the Canon Pro Forum. Pretty excited to say the least! 😬 If you’re a professional photographer or videographer and find yourself in the hood, then you should stop by tomorrow! I’ll do a little story later on how to find it. ✌️#liveforfirsts#canonnordic#norway#adventumexplorer#StoryTeller#Photography#fjordnorway#Fjords#Vikings
🐝 What would happen if all bees died? 🐝
They are critical pollinators: they pollinate 70 of the around 100 crop species that feed 90% of the world. Honey bees are responsible for $30 billion a year in crops. That's only the start. We may lose all the plants that bees pollinate, all of the animals that eat those plants and so on up the food chain. Forget the worldwide economic collapse and mass starvation. Humans and most other animal and plant species would go extinct.
What would happen if humans disappeared overnight?
Within just two decades of our extinction, Mother Nature will fully reclaim the earth as vegetation will return and spread.
Despite the fact that humankind was able to cultivate certain species of vegetation to make it more palatable and much more edible, without our skilled hands, however, the green will return back to its natural state and many of the plants and vegetables we all know and see in our salads will be virtually unrecognizable in their true, wild states.
How amazing would it be if we learnt how to live in harmony and balance with nature? All we need to do is to go back to our true nature. 🐝 This is a photo of a bee from the peppermint overgrowth in my garden. 🐝
Alexander...@captainkaul... Wow. Happy Birthday, Brother!!! I love you. Bless your mind, heart, body, spirit and soul for being in tune with your intuition and following it the day we met. Thank you. I share with people my feelings of feeling like I was reuniting with family with most of the people that picked me up while I was hitchhiking across the United States and British Columbia. Our journey together from the middle of Montana to Spokane, WA, strongly affirms that and represents that. I love you so much brother. Even just pondering on our experience together, I feel so incredibly inspired and motivated to really go even deeper into myself / All that Is and to just live life as best as I can live it - so that I can reconnect, explore and create with people like you sooner. Thank you for the medicine. Thank you for being an honest, humble, kind, pure, compassionate being. I am eternally grateful for you as you are. Praying that you experience an abundance, an overflow of harmony, peace, joy, stillness, creative flow, success, money, love, light, magic and clear awareness throughout your entire being! Keep shining that light and radiating from withing! Namaste. 💛🙏✨ Our story as you express, because you expressed it so well... “It’s an endless summer” @captainkaul passes me in the pissing rain with my thumb up on a solo from Bozeman to Seattle. Something inside him told him to turn around and swoop so he listens. He pulls up asking where I'm going and I say “Peru...But Washington first” We shared some lessons, made some music, and connected that sacred brotherly medicine you can only find through divine intervention. Blessings on the journey friend. Keep praying and keep flowing this is #conscious#music#5d#fs#keepyourheartopen#magichappenshere#storyteller#elegant#transformation#connect#earth#human
“I love being in relationships.
I was made for it.
I love having someone crack jokes in the kitchen while I’m chopping onions.
I love having a beneficiary on my life insurance policy.
I even love waking up next to my partner thinking, “How am I still with this guy?” only to spend the rest of the day falling in love with him all over again.
I’ve been in 2 long term, live-in relationships. One 10 years, the other 5.
They were messy & wonderful, but they both ended with the guys putting a ring on someone else’s finger.
Now that will make a girl think!
Because the first time it happened, well….that’s just life.
But twice? That’s a pattern.
And if it happens a third time I’m gonna do time, because shit is gonna go down.
Obviously I need to heal.
Luckily, I live in Los Angeles.
There no end the amount of yoga and meditation and kale you can consume.
But it doesn’t seem to be working so I go more fringy.
I learn to Whirl like a Dervish.
I spend an entire day changing tires at a feminist retreat.
I vision board at a mental institution turned arts colony in La Crescenta.
But I gotta tell ya, this healing thing feels like a never ending process.
What do I have to do to feel whole again?” (Excerpt from my essay “Retrain Your Eyes”)
