I made a patchwork thread catcher using my friend Anna’s forage fabric. @noodlehead531 it works well for threads, trimmings, or holding chocolate. 😂 pattern is in my shop.
When all stars align and you find the perfect backing fabric in your stash AND exactly the yards you need 🦄
I usually tend to big quilts. Want this one to have a "be dragged around size", though. As it is for the toddler. And boy, it sure is fun to have a finished backing with just one seam.
Off to finish the top now. Sewing helper is already saddling up...
I had 20 minutes to sew today, so I started a new quilt. 😂🍁 it was a good way to celebrate a gorgeous fall day. 🍂🍃🍁 I’ve had the fabric pulled for at least 15 months, so it felt great to finally start chopping it up! ✂️
I made a #workshoptote using the wonderful pattern by @jenib320
From start to finish it took me less than 2 hours to make AND I had everything on hand. 🙌🏻 I love the top stitching detail on the corners to give the bag more structure. I also interfaced both layers of the bag to add a bit more stability. This was a fun one to sew! Great pattern!
basting today! 💕 I usually pin baste, but I’m doing double duty on this one...spray baste (for the top layer only) and pins, to hold the whole thing together. I’m planning to do some dense quilting and I don’t want things to get shifty. 🤞🏻
Here is the boy version of the #dearstella quilt I made a couple weeks ago. This is one side of the quilt and I’ll be working on the other side this week. Then ALL of the tops need to be longarmed because #backup 😱.
Joining in on the Rainbow Scrap Challenge for the first time! I've been making these curved log cabin blocks aka beads sporadically so I thought joining in would be a fun way to get beads of all colors. Each block is 9" finished with 4 blocks per bead. These red scraps were all gifted by @carol.victory and @katjen61. Thanks gals! #rainbowscrapchallenge2018#sewingmystashoff#stopstashingstartsewing
Blocks are done! Now to do a final shuffle before assembling. I'm pretty happy with it. I have plenty of the green wavy stripe and I like it so I'll add a border of it also, not too wide. It's a print by Nancy Gere called Ophelia from Windham. The newest fabric in this project is from Tape Measure from Marcus Fabrics. I still can't resist a beautiful line of repros. Everything else has been in my stash a long time! #sewingmystashoff#stopstashingstartsewing#apqresolution2018
I started a new quilt over the weekend! Using two bundles from @a.crafty.fox ‘s ‘I want her stash club’ plus the bedsheet print (in butter) from my Emma & Myrtle collection with @connectingthreads (which happens to be on sale for 50% off at this time!!!). Hoping for a quilt that looks like it’s instantly vintage. 🤞🏻
I cut this quilt out earlier this spring and finally had the time to sit and sew the entire top together. While it was going together, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to add any borders and make it a twin. However, after seeing it in the backyard, I realize that it is the perfect picnic/outdoor concert quilt. I’m going to quilt it as is and keep the angled edges.
I squeezed in one more block this month! This was supposed to be Week 12 last year of #longtimegonesal#longtimegonequilt#stopstashingstartsewing I'm so happy to be making progress on this one. Next month is 64 Flying Geese units. Glad I have a month to take my time on it. @melissa.sewsandquilts ⬅️ Swipe for close up.
#misserincraftstbt : this little guy is now into toddler/childhood and no longer a little baby😂. But his quilt is still a perfect snuggle option. It’s made out of fabrics my mom started sewing and I finished-a grandma quilt!
My Village quilt is finished! I am so happy with the way it turned out-I did have my doubts 😉. I made some changes to the layout in the pattern Village by Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. , added a couple of trees, extra sashings, strips of "grass" between the rows, all in an effort to have the houses a little more separated and to help get my sunrise theme across. Also added a narrow scrappy border because I liked it. Thanks to the sewalong with @stitchsupplyco that kept me going and to the other participants with their endless inspiration!
