I feel extremely vulnerable and uncomfortable putting this out there. I keep telling myself, I’ll just post progress pictures when I’m skinny and then it won’t be as embarrassing, but I shouldn’t be ashamed of how I look now. I am though. I struggle even more because I got pretty skinny once before, and then got even fatter than I’ve ever been. I feel like I failed myself - and my husband tbh. Even though I’m scared for anytime to see this, I feel like I should post it because I have made progress and I should be proud. I tell everyone to love themselves every step of their journey, and I should do. The best results don’t come from using self hatred as motivation, the best results come from loving yourself enough to make the right changes. 🖤
I FEEL PREGNANT 🤰🏽
And before you guys freak out, and my mom starts sending me text messages, I am NOT pregnant (refer to yesterday’s post...)
However, the only clothes I feel comfortable wearing lately are very baggy ones. My stomach is bloated beyond belief and just plain storing lots of fat. My face has completely broken out, as well as my back 😕🤷🏽♀️ ick! And I feel sluggish and tired and blargh!
Yes holiday weight is a thing but guys, this is baaaaddd. I’m trying to get through all of the Thanksgiving leftovers and then taking the few weeks to Christmas to get back to my healthy foods and get back in the gym as well - if only to feel better about myself. .
But come 2019, and I am diving head first back into my healthy habits. At this point, I cannot wait to sweat every day, prepare healthy foods, and get my face all cleared up. And I will be writing a blog post allllll about these feelings and my plan for 2019 so look out for that at the beginning of January!
If any of you are in relatively the same boat and wants to build a community to encourage each other to eat healthy and workout regularly, let me know! 2019 is my year to truly get the body I am proud of and I’d love to help support you as well!
I typically wear darker colors because I “think” it hides what I want hidden. My belly. This morning after I got home from the gym, I looked at my stomach and that bottom part I had to lift up. I saw my scar. You see after baby number 3 I had 3 c-sections.
Some parts are numb and I don’t feel much in my stomach area. Isn’t that like life? We go through so much and become numb.😣 y’all my stomach is definitely a sore spot with me.
As I embrace this journey...I am having to embrace all of me. Even the parts I don’t like to look at. One day I hope to stand in front of a mirror and not have to lift up that part.
I don’t want my scar hidden anymore. It reminded me of strength sometimes hidden. Underneath all the struggles. Underneath all the heartbreak and set backs. Underneath all the days where I felt I wasn’t good enough- there is a woman who fought through her most difficult challenges.
I will never forget my first emergency c-section. The recovery was brutal. BUT... I made it.
Whoever finds themselves reading this I hope that you find it within to embrace your scars. Those scars speak volume of what you have overcome.
Now, let’s remove everything that is holding us back. Let’s show the world what we are made of 👏🏼👏🏼♥️
I'm ashamed to admit that after initially losing 20kg 2 years ago, I put back on roughly 15kg. I was working long hours, wasn't exercising and barely watching what I ate. I was full of excuses too.
Recently I've started a new job. I'm now working/travelling even longer hours, the difference- no more excuses. I've been taking any opportunity I can to exercise, have avoided unnecessary eating while still enjoying myself and I've accepted that this weight loss for me, will always be a journey, but one that I'm not rushing.
To the left I was 118kg in Feb, to the right 108kg at present.
I didn't think there had been much of a change but I can now see the weight has come off of my back, my stomach isn't hanging forward and you can see my belly button now.
I wanna lose 8kg by Jan next year. So here it goes.
Please, please never give up on your health. Sure in the right circumstances I COULD lose weight quicker, but I'm in no hurry. I will get there. Whether it takes me a year or 6 months, the result will be the same for me, I will not let time dictate my success or failure. I will dictate that. Plus I love chocolate so it'll take me a little longer lol
Papi gets bored with weighted Sit-ups too 🙄. So let’s get EXPLOSIVE 💣. I don’t think Summer 19 going to be ready for us 💯✊🏼.
12 Explosive Sit-Up.
20 seconds of Sit-Up Hold.

Lots of ladies and gentleman come into the gym squeezing their belly fat at me saying ‘I need to reduce this, what machine is best!?’ -
Me: sorry, there is no magic machine. You need to reduce your overall body fat. You can’t spot reduce from one area!
Begin by tracking what you’re currently eating.
Focus on eating lean sources of protein and veg each meal.
Prioritise strength training 2-3 times per week to begin with.
Look for consistency rather than motivation.
Be patient. The more you track, the more you can adjust. -
Let me know if you have any questions 😘
STEP 2 of the “GET STARTED” series
Instead of focusing on what to avoid let’s focus on what we need more of – WATER.
I try to drink atleast 3 lts of water a day. Not including the water I drink during my workouts.
Hydration is important for so many things, some of the most common things it has helped me with
Reduced water retention
Considerably Less headaches and migraines
Most of the time we mistake thirst for hunger and instead of drinking some water we start snacking. Whenever you think you are hungry first try drinking a glass of water, to see If its just thirst.
However drinking so much water can get boring. So I like to drink a variety of infused water to add flavor to it. This is the most common one I use. It has ginger, lime, mint, cucumber. I find adding the ginger really helps me with my bloating. I have added orange rind today because I love the smell and flavor of oranges.
I do a variety of infused waters. A lot of them with fruits. Should I put up one a day in my stories ?
In the #FitTogether series our objective is to move an overall healthier lifestyle by making small sustainable changes.
STEP 1 was to walk 10,000 steps a day which 100’s of you are now doing.
STEP 2 add 3 lts of water a day
How to make sure you get 3 lts ?
Did you notice the 6 rubber bands on my bottle ? it is a 500 ml bottle. So I need to drink 6 bottles to reach 3 lts.
I start the day with 6 rubber bands on top. As I finish a bottle I move 1 band down and refill the bottle. So every time you refill you move 1 band down. Objective is to get all the bands to the bottom.
Simple enough ?
Start drinking your water and get in your steps. Put up a story and tag me. I’ll have a surprise for the most consistent person at the end of this.
So are you in ? and do you want to see more infused water recipes ?
