Recently had the pleasure of meeting the Beer Baroness herself, @manjit.minhas at the STNCE Event in Vancouver.
Where she gave a wonderful talk about her challenges and success in the liquor industry. Most importantly she had shared her insight for current and future entrepreneurs.
Three main insights she shared:
1) Find a mentor - Needs to be calculated, intentional, and exchanged.
2) Playing with risk - Risk is a necessary component.
Risk is the playing field of opportunity and disaster. Risk is an amazing stage for development.
3) Why it’s so important for a individual to take claim of any disadvantages, to turn them into advantages.
Look forward to any future encounters @manjit.minhas!

Last night a few of my favourite brokers and I attended @stnce.ca. The evening was all about empowering women to take financial ownership.
@manjit.minhas from Dragons Den told us her story on how she got where she is today. One thing that she emphasized on is “Life is not fair”. Sometimes we need to brush ourselves off, take a deep breath, and try again.
stnce Kick off Vancouver. What is stnce?
stnce is movement that encourages women to have honest conversations about finance. The mission is to inspire women to confidently take ownership of their finances, through open and informative conversations. Stnce does this by fostering an informative and inspiring resource hub to financially empower our community. They believe that everyone benefits when women are self-reliant, self-assured, and well-informed about their financial affairs.
When it comes to the relationship between confidence and finance, research has shown there’s a tendency for women to underestimate their financial knowledge and defer ownership, especially in areas such as planning and investing. Stnce strives to bridge this confidence gap.
With our Vancouver stnce event around the corner, this highlight reel reminds us of what happened one night in Toronto...the sold-out crowd, the inspiring panel, the candid conversations about finance, the networking session and prosecco against the scenic city backdrop... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
