I've been thinking about balance recently, especially as my mind has been particularly topsy-turvey and I've not been feeling the way I'd like to be about certain things. It's easy for me to get fixated on one thing and lose sight of everything else, and it's not a great habit. With that in mind, I decided to give myself a bit more structure on my days off, with the aim to do something sociable, something active and something creative, alongside gardening and slowly getting the cottage in order. So today I cycled over to see my friend in Lanner, via back lanes and stony farm tracks, with beautiful views across Cornwall, red campion and yellow gorse in the hedges beside me, and from there to magical Treslothan Woods which is currently full of bluebells and wild garlic. A doorstep mini adventure that has reminded me of how much there is to explore and discover in this part of Cornwall - and how much better I feel if I balance my time and focus.
