Why am I wearing a dress and holding a Stitch stuffed animal?
Because it makes me happy when I'm having a bad day. And today hasn't been great. I have struggled with depression and anxiety for several years and some days it affects me worse than others. Today was one of those days.
A lot of people focus a lot of physical aspects of health, but mental health is something that is not talked about often enough. Mental illnesses are very real things, and can be awful and restricting. And I know working on my mental health is a big part of my health related goals.
So right now I need to take some time for me. I might not be able to get my full workout in, but I'll do as much as I can, eat some food and get some sleep.
Why am I saying all this?
To remind everyone that:
-it's okay to have bad days
-your feelings are valid no matter what anyone else says
-you are not alone
-taking time to rest and take care of yourself is so so important
-talking to other people helps
