Vertical up with 6010. I'm not yet satisfied, but needed to get it graded today, and I did get a 4.0. The far end, the base, I got horrible arc blow, which improved after I moved my lead to my workpiece, but the first quarter inch or so looks like literal crap.
One day left of welding for the quarter, then on to TIG next quarter because the flux core class was full.
#stickmonday ? 😂 day 2 of my 30 day challenge. Took the advise of @divern8 to get my beads to be straighter by grinding some lines in plate. I also used a carbide scrawl and a carpenters square to scribe lines to follow.
@3brothersweld gave me some advice to lift the rod and let the arc out a little bit after whipping over. Doing this seemed to let me place each little stack a little more accurately.
I'm happy with the little bit of progress I made tonight.
Thanks everybody for the advice and as always advice and constructive criticism welcome.

Low res Frame grab but I dig the old school grainy look of it.
