After 3 basketball games and Christmas decorating, I was was on the verge of talking myself out of my workout today. Then my friend messaged and asked if I wanted to join her to workout... in her gigantic closet.
THAT is ACCOUNTABILITY! She and I are on this journey together! Supporting each other AND challenging each other to be the best we can be!!

It's not all or nothing. It's not "I ate a burger today, might as well continue eating junk food today and start again tomorrow or next week." It's not "Today I skipped my workout, so I won't go this week and I'll start over next week".
We have to stop this way of thinking, we should just start or start over or continue today, we shouldn't wait until tomorrow or next week to start. .
I started a #yogaeveryday challenge last week, and for the last 3 days I haven't done any yoga 😁 not because I was lazy but simply because I had a lot going on that I just forgot. Having the all-or-nothing mentality I would have told myself to call it off this week and start over next week, but I didn't and I got back to doing yoga today and I feel very good that I did that.
We should forget about later and focus on today. No matter how many times we screw up, we just keep doing the best we can and don't wait until later to start over.
Now is the best time to do what we want to do.

Often clients come to me with assumptions about nutrition. One of the biggest has been that the key to losing fat is to burn more calories than you eat.
This MAY not be the whole story. If you’re looking to lose weight—it’s night not only be how many calories you eat; but, what types of food you choose to eat. In this case- the LATEST STUDY, the culprit to keeping us from losing weight and keeping it off is carbohydrates! ✍️A new study published last Wednesday in the journal BMJ found that overweight adults who cut carbohydrates from their diets and replaced them with fat sharply increased their metabolisms. 🔺Refined carbohydrates such as sugar, juices, bagels, white bread, pasta and heavily processed cereals. spike blood sugar and insulin,
Insulin is a hormone that promotes fat storage! ✍️In the study, each overweight person was put into strict diets and heavy workout regimens. But the group who had diets were calculated to be offset by their workouts. They were working out as much as they were eating. 🔺In the second part of the study the groups broke off into two groups: 🎯The first group had low carb intake. 🎯The second group had high carb intake.
A typical meal for the high-carb group might consist of a chicken burrito bowl with rice and vegetables, for example, or roasted turkey with green beans and mashed potatoes.
The low-carb group would get a similar meal with fewer carbohydrates, like a chicken burrito lettuce wrap or roasted turkey with green beans and mashed cauliflower. ✍️What the researchers found may be shocking: roughly 250 extra calories that the subjects in the low-carb group burned each day could potentially produce a 20-pound weight loss after three years on the diet. 📣 People who tended to secrete higher levels of insulin did the best on the low-carb diet, burning about 400 extra calories a day.

Wow❗️ What a difference I notice today playing with her outside. ⛄️. Last year I was very out of shape. I couldn’t hardly bend over to roll the snow for a snowman. Karen's parents are East Coaster snowbirds that have taken their RV down to Florida for the past 10 years. 🚐 Sprinkled in they've also taken 2-3 cross-country treks (including a bit of Mexico & Canada), taking 6-12 months each time to thoroughly enjoy what they discover. Ah, the freedom of retirement!
There's something about the FEEL OF FREEDOM IN THE WIDE OPEN ROAD...and it's not just an American thing! We've encountered many RV rigs setup near the beach all summer long here in Valencia.
In fact, we're already planning such a road trip for 8-12 weeks in 2019. 📅 EUROPEAN ROAD TRIP LOCATIONS on our radar to explore include: ✔️Northern Italy ✔️Switzerland ✔️Central France ✔️Andorra & The Pyrennes ✔️Southern France ✔️Slovenia ✔️Croatia ✔️Bosnia ✔️Montenegro. With that list of dreams...I think we're gonna need 12 weeks! 😎
