UP IN SMOKE
In the spirit of full transparency I have to admit Season 1 just over a year ago did not go as planned. It was the worst summer in over a decade to open up a Paddle Board business. As someone who strives for perfection I saw it as a disaster.
Entrepreneurship is hard. Working 80 to 90 hours a week so you dont have to work the normal 40 is crazy. Burn out is real.
That summer was wet and cold. There were 2 hot weeks in September that was it. 🤬
After almost a year of planning it all seemed to fall apart in front of me cause mother nature couldn't get her shit together. Screw you Mother Nature 2017! Mother Nature 2018, we good. 👍
No business takes off after a year, most take several to develop and there were doubts of "what have I done, what did I get myself into?' After all the planning it was very defeating and every other day with the weather it seemed like a punch in the gut. I'd put everything I had into this and it wasn't happening.
There were a few times where I nearly walked away from this. A lot of time last fall and winter there was huge doubt if there would be a season 2. It just wasn't working.
Fast forward to this year and everything is different. The Paddle Boarding Dream took off.
This summer has been one of the hottest on record. The media jumped on board. People found this, came out and then told all their friends and then they came out! It's been a crazy fun ride and completely unreal.
If you have a dream go for it. Go through the hard times. Persevere.
It will make your successes the big and the small more satisfying and enjoyable.
To everyone who came out and who is still booked to come out and to everyone who believed in fun and supported season 1 and 2 you are a huge part of this. I'm completely grateful!
