Did you know that our CEO and founder Brisa De Angulo has been featured as one of this year’s @bbcworldservice Outlook nominees? You can see her story on the BBC Outlook Inspiration page at bbc.co.uk 😊
I just saw this. My brain can't process what is going on here. I haven't even googled this yet. There are too many thoughts going on in my head, I don't know where to start.
Wake the fuck up people.
How is this ok?
The peice of crap that damaged an innocent child for life is walking free?
No wonder we have such a strong rape culture. Our laws are saying you know what..we don't approve of you violating someone's basic human rights, or causing a life time of mental damage, but it's ok we can give you another chance. No big deal. Oh but don't you dare grow a weed that spreads happiness love harmony and health. That's terrible!!! Shame on you, you can't be trusted at all you're a danger to society.
How is violence not a danger to society, but gardening is?
Wtf????? I know stuff like this happens all the time, it still shocks me.
#FactFriday : Most mistreatment and violence against children occurs in families and schools, places where children spend almost all of their time. In order to solve this problem we must see children as social protagonists, as competent members of society with dignity and rights. We must interact with them in ways that respect their competence and that foster their self-agency. Children are amazing human beings and they can grow up to change the world.
Never underestimate the impact of a great teacher or mentor. Our teachers at #CEV are well-trained in multiple different teaching methods to guarantee that our students have the absolute best chance possible to fulfill their dreams and become the smart and strong people they’re meant to be.

“I feel like young girls are told that they have to be princesses and fragile. It’s bullsh*t. I identify much more with being a warrior- a fighter. If I was going to be a princess I would be a warrior princess. Definitely.” - @emmawatson
Having fun working in the salon! #FactFriday : A Breeze of Hope works with women and children to help them develop new skills that not only can they enjoy, but that can help them become financially independent resulting in them being less susceptible to violence. Please consider supporting our programs by making a donation, as always the link is in our bio. Thank you 💙

the alarm rings. 6 am.
i get out of the bed.
he lies there, asleep.
i look at my left arm
the cigarette burn, still afresh from last night,
reminds me of the times when he used to smoke incessantly
and i used to think it was just a reckless phase
and it possibly was
but what i didn't know was that things would only get worse with time
and his rogue behaviour would turn into violent one
and petty arguments into regular fights
and before long, he had begun hitting me
and the first time he had slapped me was the time i had cried for hours, half out of disbelief and half for my shattered respect
but later, he apologized and begged for me to come back
and trading off my self respect for 'love' was the first step towards the death of my self-esteem
and his ever-going series of 'give me one more chance' only ended chances of my escape
because putting up with abuse once led to an abyss of abuses
and i could see that the scars on my body spoke stories of how helpless love could be
but what i should have known is that love is not always meant to be.
yesterday was a tragedy, to the victims and their families, my heart aches with you. Justice will be served & he will suffer behind bars. although its not enough to bring back your loved ones, we as a City and Country are standing strong with you. #TorontoStrong#truenorthstrongandfree#standagainstviolence 🇨🇦
She’s been our hero for a very long time, but recently she was named a #CNNhero by @cnn!We’re so excited and happy that Brisa is receiving recognition for her journey and the hard work she does every day. Anything is possible if you believe in it enough and are willing to fight for it.
Stand up, stand up for the truth. Stand up for what’s right. Stand against the injustices of the oppressive systems that torture, mutilate, rape, and kill innocent sentient beings for people’s palatial and fashion preferences. Stand against the destruction of our planet. Life is so precious and it’s all we have.
Yesterday at union square we tallied 82 people who would strongly consider going vegan and that was just being out there for 3 hours. Our cube of truth was a powerful one. I was so honored to be a part of that for the first time. We showed people footage of what goes on in the meat, dairy, egg, and fur industry and told them about challenge22.com where they could have guidance as they enter their vegan journey.
It was truly a great feeling to know that there is hope to save Mother Earth. This destructive behavior must end, we are only shortening our future. #GoVegan#anonymousforthevoiceless#activism#joinme#nyc#ny#unionsquare#standagainstcruelty#standagainstviolence#savemotherearth#vegan#city#compassion#peaceful#powerful#inspiration#love#standup#fightforlife#peaceonearth

Most perpetrators are male family members, neighbours and even husbands or partners. These existing social structures perpetuate the stigma women face when speaking out and leave rape as an under-reported crime. 🗣#speakup#standagainstviolence#healthoverstigma

For all those elephants who have lost their lives to hunters who wanted their tusks and the orphans that were left behind or also killed in the mayhem and evil😭😢 I have donated my money in hopes I can help, and i now donate this drawing for anyone who might see it and also feel inspired to help them. They are a magnificent animal that I do not wish to see go through any more hurt due to our species' greed. This was inspired after seeing a Instagram post by National Geographic that shook me to my core and brought tears to my eyes. I give all my love ❤️ to the elephants left on this earth in hopes their fates won't end so brutally and tragically.
Every new day is a wake of another terror, women getting abused & killed, children covered in blood laying over the corpse of their fathers, families been driven out of their Abode, no clothes/shoes to wear, no food to eat, so much evil spreading around, zero peace of mind, not being able to sleep with both eyes closed always on a red alert for any form of danger might arise in the blink of an eye. The moment,we hurt children we hurt the whole world at large...
Say no to the killings of Children, Mothers and Fathers, even livestocks and vegetations.. #Prayforthelostnations#StandagainstViolence#Peace#Wearetheworld#Wearethechildren#Sparethesword
“My absolute favorite part of volunteering at A Breeze of Hope was being able to meet the children there and teach them a few things in English. They were always so full of energy and love and an excitement to learn. Thinking about the circumstances that brought them there breaks my heart and had me giving a lot of extra hugs. I'm so blessed to have been able to spend time with these sweet kids and witness all the good that Brisa, Parker, and all the teachers & staff at ABH are doing.” - Tori *
We believe that sexual violence is a worldwide issues that transcends all other beliefs and backgrounds. We all must work together as a team to educate and support each other in regards to this worldwide issue. We love and appreciate all our past and present volunteers and hope they have held onto the lessons and experiences they have had while partnering with us. ❤️ #TeamTuesday
My best friend Andrew was in town, and on Saturday we went to the Lubbock #marchforourlives event! A fearless crowd of hundreds peacefully protested for hours, as angry drivers honked at us and insulted us. We noticed there was no police supervising the protest and making sure things wouldn't get dangerous, but we were told by a local couple that police don't like coming to events that they don't support or care about. #standagainstviolence#guncontrol#texas#reunion#bestvisitever#surprises#love
