#Repost from Spring 2017 scholar @shaquanmcdowell: Shifted through some old photos and found these gems.
Here’s why I love them -
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland 2017.
Story: My peers and I , scholars on the @hansardscholars program, decided to climb Arthur’s Seat (the mountain in the back.). Why? Who knows? The view, however, was spectacular. As you can see, when we started, we were all smiles. What you don’t see, is that halfway up the mountain, an insane hail storm begins pelting us and continues as we near the top. We end up coming down the mountain with slippery surfaces and insane storms. It was something out of a movie and an experience I’ll never forget (crazy but totally worth the tale and laughs). I took a key moral from the story though : though the views may look nice in the end, you never know the storms you’ll have to endure, to reach them.
Happy Monday y’all. Stay motivated!!! ————————————————————-
Puffy clouds overhead,
fresh grass and colorful flowers below.
Sun light bursts all around,
a wonderous dance with shadow.
Rivers rush by with spring melt,
mountain peaks full of snow.
Trees of all types and sizes,
surrounding this large meadow.
Spring of 2017 in #kennedymeadows was one of my favorite. This was May 14th and there was still so much snow on the peaks! Thank you to all the firefighters protecting this place as well as the resort and cabins around it.
