Monday motivation 🔥from my 
Client & good friend of mine @jackrhump3es.

I treated jack over the 5-6 months as he prepared for this gruelling 4 day PRMC royal marine training course, that determined whether he got into the 8months worth  of training still yet to come.

Sacrifices were made discipline and hard work was implemented into his training and lifestyle in order to be at the top of his game leading up to this 4 day intense course.

37 started only 20 passed and jack was the one of the only 2 people to score the highest mark out of the group,  A-pass.

When you want something so bad you will find a way to make that happen, it all comes down to your mentality, mind set has to change boundaries have to be pushed in order to achieve something that you haven’t done before.
Much respect to this man 👍🏻. If your thinking of taking on a challenge whether it be your first marathon or tough mudder like jack it benefited him to have regular treatment to ensure he stayed injury free throughout the process, if you look after your body during the training the body will perform at its highest level come event day 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️. •Improve your recovery •Improve your performance

Michael struggles with a subacromial impingement. He’s been carrying the tension in his traps for about a year so in order to stop the impingement I’ve loosened his pec minor and given his traps and rhomboids some cupping treatment. 
Impingement injuries are a long journey but we’re on the right path 👍🏻

4 Main Differences Between Spa Massage and Therapeutic Massage.
Focus: At a spa, the practitioner’s focus is on your relaxation and comfort. Generally, this will mean the techniques used are drawn from Swedish massage and are adapted to the client’s preferences. At a LifeThyme Wellness, the practitioners goal is to treat your health concerns such as chronic pain. The client will undergo a detailed assessment of what the problem areas of the body are and the practitioner will use whatever methods s/he deems most appropriate to treat the issues. Usually, treatment will take place over a series of visits, until the client is back to full health.
Atmosphere: The spa atmosphere is geared to put you at ease. Gentle lighting, soothing aromas, calming music and simple aesthetics are carefully designed to help you exhale the moment you step through their doors. Spas also offer other services such as body scrubs and hand and foot treatments to complete the pampering experience. 
Our clinic is designed more for functionality than luxury. You will be seen in a private room with a massage table. There may be music and gentler lighting to help you relax.
Training: A massage practitioner has over 750 hours of training and each year does 24 hours of continuing education.  Training includes theory classes and practical evaluations.  A spa practitioner training focuses on the spa treatments and less on the theory.  Their programs are approximately 300 hours and no continuing education is required.
In Bermuda, you know if you are seeing Massage Practitioner because they are a members of the Bermuda Massage Therapy Association.  Spa Practitioners do not qualified to be members of the BMTA
Cost: At a spa, massages are usually priced by the hour and tips are expected. Massages at spas are not covered by medical insurance.

This is the first part of my version of Qigong body tapping, an exercise designed to vibrate all the body systems.

The vibration moves Qi (vital energy) and fluids to release any blockages.

As the vibration goes through your body it opens the channels and joints and releases tension.

I will be posting parts as the week goes on so stay tuned.

HOW TO
⬇️
Stand with feet hip width apart, knees soft. Follow the actions (speeded up here so you don’t get bored).

Start by tapping lightly but increase the strength (without going too crazy) as your body becomes used to it.

Take slow deep breaths.
.
This sequence is excellent for anyone to use, whether you are training hard at the gym, a professional athlete, work in an office... anyone.
.
Not only does it wake up the body systems, it helps to focus the mind and gives you a few moments of quiet to respect that amazing body of yours.

Why Recovery Is Important
Recovery after exercise is essential to muscle and tissue repair and strength building. This is even more critical after a heavy weight training session. A muscle needs anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to repair and rebuild, and working it again too soon simply leads to tissue breakdown instead of building. For weight training routines, never work the same muscles groups two days in a row.
There are as many methods of recovery as there are athletes. The following are some of the most commonly recommended by the experts.
Rest and Relax
Time is one of the best ways to recover (or heal) from just about any illness or injury and this also works after a hard workout. Your body has an amazing capacity to take care of itself if you allow it some time. Resting and waiting after a hard workout allows the repair and recovery process to happen at a natural pace. It's not the only thing you can or should do to promote recovery, but sometimes doing nothing is the easiest thing to do.
Stretch It Out
After a tough workout, consider gentle stretching. This is a simple and fast way to help your muscles recover.
Get a Bit More Sleep
While you sleep, amazing things are taking place in your body. Optimal sleep is essential for anyone who exercises regularly. During sleep, your body produces Growth Hormone (GH) which is largely responsible for tissue growth and repair.
Avoid Overtraining
One simple way to recovery faster is by designing a smart workout routine in the first place. Excessive exercise, heavy training at every session or a lack of rest days will limit your fitness gains from exercise and undermine your recovery efforts.
Listen to Your Body for a Faster Recovery
The most important thing you can do to recovery quickly is to listen to your body. If you are feeling tired, sore or notice decreased performance you may need more recovery time or a break from training altogether. My top tips are below.

1. See your physiotherapist or Sports therapist to ensure there are no underlying medical issues 
2. Have some manual therapy ,
Mobilisations and joint release

3. Acupuncture is one of my go to techniques and is extremely effective in managing pain in the lumbar spine and thoracic spine.

4. stretch , stretch , stretch.

5. Correct your posture and underlying ergonomics 
6. Pilates and yoga and fantastic forms of exercise to manage your symptoms .
