“Black people once enjoyed great Kingdoms like the Malian Empire and the Ghanaian Empire. But they don’t teach you that at school. Whenever you watch certain movies or documentaries, you’d almost think black people were descendants from slaves. No, we were decrowned.”
“Why don’t we have streets named after Tupac in The Netherlands? There have been black composers in the past. Where are their streets and statues ? It’s important to have visible black heroes. Someone to look up to, someone you want to look like. That gives you something to hold on to in the future.”

(sound on)🔊 This was weighing so heavy on my heart this morning- the topic of rejection. Rejection leaves people feeling lonely, depressed and sometimes suicidal and is the enemies favorite tactic to use against human beings. I dealt with rejection since childhood and to be honest, I wouldn’t wish that emotional pain on anyone. I only found true freedom and healing when I allowed God access to my heart and let Him shower me with His love and acceptance. What troubles me is when we reject each other as children of God. Don’t we know that we are made in His image and in His likeness and we are all expressions of the Father? As believers we should never think of ourselves more highly then another brother or sister and bring the ways of the world into the Kingdom. Cliques are one way that I see this manifesting in the Kingdom- if someone isn’t good for your image you exclude them and with all the love and kindness in my heart; I want to tell you that is wrong. The only image we are called to exalt is that of our Father and not that of ourselves. We should love and accept one another in Christ and never allow ourselves to be used as an instrument of rejection at the hands of the enemy. If you have been rejected or feel left out, I want you to know that God fully accepts you and to not let your heart be hardened towards those who have hurt you. You are loved.
Semi long post ahead:
So there’s this guy in The Bible, Saul.
God tells Saul through Samuel (a prophet) to go fight and kill all the Amalekites, the king and everything that belongs to them. Saul wins the fight and kills all the people except the king and he spares the best sheep and cattle — he wanted to bring back the king to the Israelites to celebrate that they had won the battle and he wanted to sacrifice the best sheep to God - so sweet right? 👀👀👀 Sometimes we have the best intentions in doing things for God but your best intentions isn’t what God is asking of you.
So God told Samuel (the prophet) to tell Saul a few (not so good) words 😬. Basically, God said that Saul disobeyed Him by not doing what He asked of him and because of that Saul wasn’t going to be king anymore!! 🤭
⚠️God doesn’t need your sacrifice, He wants your obedience⚠️ He appreciates a heart full of good intentions but prefers a heart of obedience.
Obedience is better than sacrifice✔️
Obedience allows you to see the hand of God work in your favor. Obedience guides you along the right path. Obedience gives way to God to do the impossible.
Don’t rebel or try to do things your way because of your ego, pride or motives. 🗣JUST OBEY GOD!
1 Samuel 15 (CEV) “Tell me,” Samuel said. “Does the Lord really want sacrifices and offerings? No! He doesn’t want your sacrifices. He wants you to obey him. 23 Rebelling against God or disobeying him because you are proud is just as bad as worshiping idols or asking them for advice. You refused to do what God told you, so God has decided that you can’t be king.”

Moving to a new area, especially somewhere as beautiful as #TheBay , I’ve been inspired to revamp this great concept my friends and I created long ago. I have some people lined up for the next edition of #Speek out here on the west coast, but if your a spoken word artist, or shit you just have something to say.... let’s make some beautiful art to share to the world, where we create the bare maximum, finding what really matters in this world. #Treemeeting 🐝🌾✨🌱🌺
