Hey guys! Things are so exciting but also breathing a big sigh of relief over here graduating with my Bachelors degree in Visual Communication Design. I walked at graduation a week ago, but technically just have 1 more little class to take for the next 8 weeks, it’ll be a breeze. I started on this journey to get this degree in 2012 while my husband was in the Navy and we were stationed in Florida, it only took 3 states (FL, TX, WA) transferring schools twice which is not easy, and not cheap! We also found during this 6 year period we were ready to start our family so we had our daughter and now are 7.5 months pregnant with number two! It was definitely the more difficult and scenic way of getting through school but I had to do things my own way, and fit it around my own life, while waiting long enough to make sure I was making the right decision. It worked for me so I hope anyone doubting themselves can find some encouragement in that and know that no matter if you’re a mom, or a military wife, or whatever path you are on, you are worth that time and effort to do what you want to do in life! A strong support system, asking for help, and learning how to say no when you are spread too thin are all pieces advice I would give!
But anyways, what all this means is I can now spend my time where my heart has been pulling me, on my business!
I will be focusing on couples sessions, family sessions, and weddings/elopements! As you can see in my feed, I don’t care about forced poses or everyone staring into the camera with a stiff smile. I care about moments, relationships, and emotion. Your job is to show up to a session and play, love each other, have a dance party, whatever it is that makes you and your family or partner who you are ♥️ I’m looking so forward to engaging more here and solely running my business! Being 7.5 months pregnant I have about another 2
months with some availability on the calendar, and then I’ll be taking a maternity leave until around mid October, so if you are wanting a summer session make sure to start planning and get on the books with me soon!
Slowly realizing how much I’m a lover of the inconsistent. .
Give me all the last minute photoshoots, staying up till 4am, taking a whole day off, working in new locations. .
Don’t get me wrong, I’m in serious need of structure + habit, like coming back to my own place, having a working car, having friends that stick with you, daily coffee... but I also love being able to expect something new everyday. .
anyone else rearrange their room/house every month? No, just me?? Well if you do too, maybe you understand the love for those small changes too
Just when I think summer might have finally arrived it gets cold again! We (and by we, I mean my kids and not me) had the first swim of the season yesterday and I actually pulled on shorts! I ended the night wrapped in a blanket with a cup of hot tea though. 🤔 This is our second summer here and I'm just not used to it yet! I'm used to those humid, lightening bug summer nights in Pennsylvania. This part of the country is beautiful but there is just no place like home, ya know? #missingthenortheast
