The final three ply Rambouillet. The twist is a little bit uneven but the yarn turned out okay. I still have a lot to learn about spinning, and spinning and plying different fibers is very helpful. I’m very pleased with how the deep blue colour turned out with both dark and light shades. 100 grams more to spin and I also have to figure out what to knit from it. Last picture is before I washed it. #spinnersofinstagram#igspinners#dyersofinstagram#indiedyersofinstagram#rambouilletsheep
A beautiful example of #sheeptoshawl
by @just4ewes . The dual purpose Dohnes allow us to use the whole sheep - carcass and wool. Click on the original post to see an awesome slideshow of the process from the sheep to the end product.

My first project woven entirely with yarn I made from raw fleece. Swipe to trace the journey back to the sheep on the farm in Coorow.
Both of these hanks are #SinglePly#HandSpunYarn they have not yet been soaked and set. They are from the same hank of roving. One was done in two broken hours today on the spinning wheel, while the other was done over many small bits of time over several weeks on the drop spindle (mostly in various #autism therapy waitrooms for my kids). Can you tell which is which? Is one nicer than the other? Both were lots of fun and both will be woven into the same project. 💞🐑
Drop spinning is a lot more physical and involves much more of your body movement, allowing for certain kinds of intention to go easily into the work. ✨
With the spinning wheel, it is almost as though you are pulling something right out of your core and putting whatever that is into the work.🌙
I find spinning on the drop spindle to be more grounding work, whilst the spinning wheel feels more astral.🌟 What kind of magic do you do with your spinning? 🙌💞🐑
Lately I am slightly obsessed with small spinning projects - I spin clouds. And for those couple meters of fluffy and highly irregular yarn, I spend all the fancy fibers that I have: silks and ramie and merino wool. I also put rougher looking regular wool in some places, to give it more harsh look. I mix different colors and go crazy for clouds that could never exist in real life, but can be brought to life in my embroidery 💚
I tried something new - filling in a hoop and making a nature picture. I think it is a cute little first attempt 😅
Had this brown mallee burl cap call out to me from the shelf in the DC Area Woodcraft today. Said something about becoming a spindle, so I gave a ride home.
Some days, you just gotta stay put of the way and let the wood do the talking for you.

Doesn’t Michelle’s @m_a_mackie yarn look so delicious!! Such a beautiful wave of gorgeous yarn!
BRAVA Michelle! ・・・
I love how this turned out, even if trying to take pictures with this low of light sucks - first braid of autumn-y @threewatersfarm for my Nightshift. Colorway is Fall Foliage 7 .
This is my favorite color - has been my whole life. It makes me smile. It’s kind of a marigold or mustard. I’ve had a short attention span lately so I’ve been dyeing 2 oz of #swmerino and just spinning 2-ply mini-skeins. #spinnersofinstagram#handdyed#handspun
