“We're going to destroy the world. Want to come?”🧛🏻♀️
Really happy with the last minute decision to cosplay Drusilla with my bestie @kathubs’ Spike at Whedoncon! (Swipe all the way through for an AWESOME photo I just had to repost from @zacharyjluna, whose Spike is also bloody brilliant!)
Anne Pratt was the mother of William Pratt, who would become the vampire known as “William the Bloody” and “Spike”. Some time in his adulthood, William’s mother became ill and he took care of her, often reading her his poetry. His focus on her detracted from his social life and, despite his mother’s urges, he had no interest in finding a romantic partner and considered her as the woman in his life. After being sired by Drusilla, Spike sired his mother with the intention of saving her life and bringing her with them. Anne was the first vampire he sired. However, becoming a vampire brought out the darker aspects of Anne’s personality. She tells him that she had hoped a girlfriend would remove his smothering presence from her life and that she resented being a captive audience to his doting presence and terrible poetry. She then implied that he had always had sort of an Oedipal complex with her, wanting to have her in a sexual way. She said this had not only caused his inability to find a woman in life, but had also led him to sire her. In an attempt to get rid of her son, Anne also attempted to seduce him. His forceful rejection, however, caused Anne to try to stake William with her own cane. In the resulting fight, William broke the cane in two, and used one of the pieces to dust Anne. During the next decades, Spike, remained traumatized by the ordeal. By 2003, the First Evil used the trauma in order to brainwash him into a killing machine activated by the song his mother used to sing. but it was during a fight against Robin Wood, that he finally understood that the demon present in this traumatic experience was not the same as his mother, who did love him. After this, he appeared more willing to confront the experience and put it behind him. #BuffyTheVampireSlayer#vampirewithasoul#SarahMichelleGellar#buffy#buffysummers#buffytheslayer#buffyverse#truestrength#angelus#angeltheseries#spikethevampirewithasoul#jamesmarsters#angelthevampire#buffyandspike#spikeanddrusilla#spikethevampire#buffyforever#buffyfansfollow#buffyfandom#spuffy#spikeandbuffy#whedonverse#williamthebloody#jamesmarsters
-Are we feeling better, then?
-I'm naming all the stars.
-You can't see the stars, love. That's the ceiling. Also it's day.
-I can see them. But I've named them all the same name, and there's terrible confusion.
Credit to @magpaie for the script, thank you so much for it!
20 years ago a show aired that honestly shaped my youth. I was 7 when Buffy came out and I remember watching it in secret while my parents worked late hours. From day 1 I was hooked. I am NOT a feminist activist or any BS like that but Buffy always showed me how strong girls can be even while they are still figuring out life. I always knew as a young girl I wanted to be as STRONG as Buffy, not skinny, not pretty, not as popular, but as strong. This show taught me friendship, about honor, about loss and about love. It taught me that everyone has light and dark in them and it is how you choose that makes a difference. This show is my go to when I am sad or sick or just need to smile. Thank you @sarahmgellar for giving every girl a hero to look up to. Who taught us to never give up and to always follow what you believe. Thank you to everyone who was involved in making my hands down favorite show ever. #InEveryGeneration#Buffy#TeamBangel#20years#childhood#strength#buffythevampireslayer
