@runaroundkat taking her @spibelt away on holiday! ✈️
Croatia is beautiful and we explored Dubrovnik Old Town and city walls today.
Rather than us both carry a bag around, I used my SPIbelt for the essentials- phone, wallet, lip balm.
Aside from when I took the picture, it was under my t shirt so really discreet which makes it good for travelling. Even if you had a bag, you could keep wallet/keys/passport in there easy peasy.
9 solo miles that were quite lonely.
Mabel seems to have hurt her foot yesterday and started limping after the first mile so she got kicked up and taken home and I carried on solo.
The only plus was I got some solid road miles in which Mabel would've hated.
There’s a reason why you can see the Grand Canyon from space, its enormity is more than you can imagine. It takes your breath away and doesn’t give it back until you make your way out. We crossed 30 miles, a total of 14,000 feet of elevation change from north rim to south rim, 11 hrs of hiking in one day. Our hike started at 6:30am to descend down North Kaibab trail in below freezing temps that eventually would rise up to 120 degrees in the box! Our climb out on Bright Angel trail was gorgeous but the last 4 miles of switchbacks straight up was insane! We had to dig deep and support each other to get out. It was the most challenging experience and an incredible test of what my mind/body is capable of...broke down and cried at the top. I don’t know if my body feels any stronger but my mind definitely does!
All the deer were out for my long run this morning! Everyone on the trail probably thought I’d never seen a deer in my life because I kept stopping to look at them! But they let me get so close and they didn’t run off scared! Longest run so far! Feeling more ready for @mocowbellrun!
Mum and I are off to Cardiff to do the St David's Day 10k. Eeek so excited. When I was originally meant to do this I wouldn't have been 39 weeks pregnant but never mind take it nice and slow today. Good luck to everyone running today what ever run you do. #stdavidsday10k#39weekspregnant#runner#spibelt#stdavidsdayrun
The Capitol Run this morning was hot. I was shooting for 22, but the heat just became too much for me. I was doing great pace wise until the half. I even PRd my half time. But my average pace for the last 8 miles was over a minute slower. The humidity really started taking its toll. But, the hills don’t scare me anymore. If I can do it in today’s conditions I think I can do it any time.
Now excuse me while I try to get rid of my dehydration headache.
.Growing up,I would visit my Grandparents in the Riverland, where citrus grew.My Grandpa had a grapefruit every morning. He even had a special Grapefruit knife to pare the fruit. My Grandma would slice one for me,sprinkle with sugar and put in the fridge the night before,so it wasn’t too tart to eat..
Well,no sugar on this bowl of Wonderful fruit from our tree,in our backyard. Its a really old tree, with thick skinned fruit & tastes more like a cross between an orange & grapefruit..
I’m thankful for being introduced to this amazing fruit, and love eating it..
Do you have something that your parents/friend/grandparents fed you, that is now part of your life?
Love to hear your stories..
So tomorrow is the St David's day 10k. This race was meant to happen in March. I'm now 39 weeks pregnant so this is the only kit I have that actually fits me so no club top will be warn apart from my support belt, I'm so excited. I haven't run since the beginning of February so will have a nice walk tomorrow but I couldn't miss this. #stdavidsday10k#39weekspregnant#runner#spibelt
Mein #flatlay fur den Berliner Marathon 🇩🇪 It may be marathon #7 but let me tell you, it does not get any easier; the nerves have been off the scale today!
So many mixed emotions about this race for lots of reasons but one thing is for sure, I will be towing the start line with a smile on my face and a determination to enjoy every single second because YOLO!
All the best of luck to everyone running tomorrow (and remember to smile at the camera 😊) #berlin#berlinmarathon#flatlay#spibelt#zeropoint #🇩🇪 #Garmin
My legs are definitely painful today but as usual Mabel was bouncing off the walls so off we went for a very slow 2 miles.
Good luck to everyone running Berlin tomorrow and any other races, I'm counting down the days until my next race 🏃
Saturday miles are supposed to breast before Sunday long run but these felt anything but easy. The humidity came back with a vengeance today and I didn’t get out as early as I should have but chose to sleep in a little bit. But that’s ok because it was 3 miles along the trail with a stop at my favorite historic site along the way. It’s so fun to imagine that an actual president used to live in the very house behind me in that picture!
🏃🏻♀️that was certainly a run of two halves. After a fairly heavy week in terms of miles and pace, my legs are certainly feeling well used. After a mile or so I fell into roughly what is to be my marathon pace and felt great at that speed. I had set off a little later than planned so it was a little busier but I was going well and despite being confused at what half of 19 is (certainly not 13) i was feeling great and loving every minute.
Then mile 13 hit. A distance I have literally just run a week ago. A distance I have run a few times now. At this point it was the climb back to Bingley. Around 2 miles of just uphill battle. I had used a gel at about mile 12 so it was just about perfect timing for that section and where things get a bit tough. But it got even tougher. With all the traffic I was having to stop at every junction. I managed 3 stops, getting harder to start again each time. On the 4th that was it. Stopping so many times in less than a mile is brutal. I literally couldn’t start again. The tiredness had had enough time to kick in on those stops, I was already battling to keep going. I knew I just needed to run another half mile and they would go. But I couldn’t. I had a little sit and a drink. A few minutes passed, I picked myself up and pushed on. It was hard for around 3 minutes but after that I was flying again. I finished almost as strongly as I wanted and it was a cracking pace for an easy run.
🧠Never underestimate the power of your mind. Today I let my mind win. I wasn’t tired, I want hurt but my mind decided it had had enough and wasn’t getting anywhere. Every time we stop, it’s harder to start again. It takes so much more mental strength than people realise to just start after a break, no matter how many times you stop, you must always start at least one more ❤️ #Run#running#runhappy#womensrunning#womensrunninguk#milebymile#marathontraining#loverunning#onemileatatime#instarunner#runnersofinstagram#runtoinspire#inspiringwomenrunners#ukrunchat#runner#spibelt#zeropointconpression#runnerscommunity#runnergirl#roadtoyork
