Did you know your brain creates literal pathways of thoughts that you have said/thought so many times that its literally become a concrete pathway you never have to think about and is now engrained in your head and is a concrete belief! •
I have a whole lot of negative pathways in my brain that I don’t even have to think about but are now engraved so deeply hat they are dictating my every move! BUT don’t get discouraged because YOU CAN CHANGE THOSE PATHWAYS! •
How? Switch those negatives thoughts! Take them and directly attack them with TRUTH! When you do this you will literally reroute pathways and your brain will start to automatically transmit those thoughts and they will then dictate your actions! •
What pathway are you ready to change in your mind?
Grad school starts in just 5 days! 😳😳 I’m enjoying the last 5 days of summer as much as I can, starting off with some Indian coffee and a cup of fruit! Not ready for summer to end, but I am ready to continue learning more about special education, behavior analysis, and whatever else these next two years can teach me ☺️🤗
Many of our clients have children who receive Special Education services and require Special Needs Planning. With the school year starting up, it's essential that parents be prepared. On our blog (link to website in profile), we have a great guest post from attorney Melissa (Meira) Amster from @amsterlawfirm on “Five things parents of a Special Education Student should do in the new school year.”
Inspired to read a favorite classic as my own puppies were being groomed. Special bonus? My student's mom owns the grooming shop. My student just beamed as I read this book. How do you form connections? ☕💡🗯️
I am so excited! I just finished setting up my classroom schedule for next year, and I wrote a whole blog post about how I do it! Check it out here https://teachingwithmrsg.com/setting-up-schedules-for-special-education/ (link in profile)
In L😍VE with my classroom this year! If I learned anything going into my 4th year it is that organization is key & pretty fonts make a hell of a difference! Here’s to surfing the waves of success this year with my kiddos! 🏄🏽♀️🌸🌊🌴
This is one of those go-to keep in my therapy room forever items that @nicoleallison is famous for. Her materials are thoughtfully planned out and they deliver.❤️💙💚 I reached out to Nicole when I first got started on Teachers Pay Teachers and she was so sweet to encourage me, I’ll never forget that. 💜💙💚 You need her in your insta feed, trust me. #slpfollowfriday
We hope you all had a fun filled week! Summer is officially coming to an end and we are gettin back in the routine of going to school! 🍎🐘
As you wrap up your week and discuss the first week of school with your kiddos, a great topic to touch on is
D͙I͙S͙A͙B͙I͙L͙I͙T͙Y͙ A͙W͙A͙R͙E͙N͙E͙S͙S͙ 👍🏽🤗
This is something that I am personally passionate about as I have a tremendous amount of experience working with special needs. .
Remind your kiddos to be open and friendly to other children who have disabilities. Remind them they are just like everyone else and it’s OK to be friends with someone no matter what they look like or how they act. You never know, you might be meeting your best friend! 😀
Our children are “sponges” they absorb everything we say and do. Let’s lead by example and show our kids that we treat people with dignity and respect! 👊🏽
My ⓗⓞⓟⓔ one day, is that we can make a large enough impact on our children that when they move on to elementary school they can spread the awareness! .
Have a great weekend AKL Family!
My 2 independent littles. She has a fierce mind of her own and he loves to help everyone and anyone. Well this morning, he caved and let her guide him to library #sothisislove 💕I love my job! Happy Friday and have a great weekend!!
I could tell you how much I hate this picture because of my laugh lines and the crinkle in my neck, by instead I’m going to share with you a victory and a reason to go shopping: looks like I’ll need a belt or some jeans because this barely hanging on my hips thing isn’t going to workout 🤷🏼♀️
Yo! MTV Raps really ended with a bang, man. Everybody gathering together for the freestyles that day might be a legendary hip hop moment, one I wish I was alive and old enough to experience!

Access for people with disabilities! That's what makes the partnership between RED development and my district so innovative. With a simple email and an elevator ride, the Director of HR for RED was able to visit my classroom to give a presentation on professional dress and first impressions. How awesome is that! We skipped all of the red tape and coordination, (typically required on a school campus) and jumped right into student learning. Integrated special education with streamlined accessibility is the future and It's happening right now in my classroom!!! @CityScapePhx
And how cool is it that Stephanie ended her presentation by giving each of my students a first impressions kit! #swipeleft
