My parents. My warriors. My protectors. My heart. You have struggled with all that has happened to me. None of it is your fault. It isn’t always easy to understand the person that I am as a result, but you try. I am so lucky to have your love and support through all the battles ahead.
Was so good to have you both with me. Tears kept flowing, over anything and everything, after you left. I love you both dearly.
Today is International Men’s Day. While there are issues favoring men that need to be addressed such as pay inequality etc., today is a day where men (and society in general) can reflect on the reality of being a man in modern society. Today is a day to address the constant expectation to remain strong and silent in the face of adversity and to subscribe to the ever growing toxic mindset of “lad culture”. The expectation that to be considered a real man you have to be 6 feet tall, or have a beard, or bench press/deadlift a certain weight. Today is a day to reflect on the effect this expectation has as 76% of suicides are men and it remains the leading killer of men in the UK/Ireland. But most of all, today is a day to remember that it’s okay to not be okay and that it’s okay to break the stoicism and ask for help. This is not a post suggesting men have it worse than women. Instead, it’s promoting the idea that neither gender has it easy and that there is work still to be done to make being a man in the 21st century a more positive, accepting experience 😊 #internationalmensday#movember#speakup#speakout
Happy Monday 💙❤️ Making a decision can be a difficult process, especially if you are feeling particularly anxious or low in mood.
Improve your decision making skills with these four useful steps.
When making a big decision it can also be useful to ‘try on your future’. You can do this by taking a moment to yourself, closing your eyes and imagining what it would be like if you had already made the decision. Try your best to imagine every single detail and notice how it makes you feel.

It’s hard to explain to people who haven’t experienced it. 6 years ago I first got diagnosed with anxiety and depression, although it went undiagnosed for 2 years before this. You can’t see it so it automatically means you’re ok, and that’s just the stigma, isn’t it? You can’t put a pot or a bandage on mental health, so that means there’s nothing wrong. No, it means you wake up with the same demons you went to bed fighting the night before, it’s crying for what may seem like no reason, it’s panic attacks, it’s always thinking of the worst scenario. It’s some days wanting to get up and do things, followed by a day of not wanting to get out of bed. It’s terrifying, but most importantly it’s misunderstood ❤️

Today I was told that I am dressed like a tramp, by someone of the male species mind you. Does this girl look like a tramp? You know what, scratch that, the question does not matter. What matters is that some man felt entitled enough to go out of his way to tell me I am dressed trashy and provocatively. I've always thought of myself as a fairly conservative dresser so this came to me by complete and utter suprise. There is no reason why THIS outfit should make you go out of your way to degrade my confidence and tell me I am something I am not. When did being stylish and confident in my looks and body turn into me trying to seduce anyone? This is 2018. You don't see women going up to men and telling them their shirtless bodies or muscle shirts are too "slutty". Let's stop this misogyny. I am not dressed like a tramp. Even if I was, it is not your job to degrade someone this way. #seriously#nofilter#uncalledfor#endthemisogyny#imnotatramp#beyondbelief#stopslutshaming#speakout#thisiswhatconfidencelookslike#girlsruntheworld
Let’s end the stigma associated with depression and #mentalhealth . Anyone can struggle with depression or any mental health issue, including MEN. It’s not a personal weakness or anything of that sort but something that needs to be talked about and confronted. Your life is important. As long as you are still breathing God had a plan and purpose for you being here. He makes no mistakes. Keep going and get help when you need it. Talk to someone. It’s okay telling someone, anyone that you’re not okay. Being a man doesn’t mean having to pretend to be okay or strong all the time. See a therapist, counselor, schedule a doctors appointment, seek guidance from a pastor, someone you trust who will help you and listen. Suicide hotline number 1-800-273-8255. 1 Year Ago I Changed.
1 Year Ago Was the Last Time I Allowed a Man to
-Sit on my chest making it hard to breathe and spit in my face
-Make me take my clothes off and keep my phone to prevent me from leaving -Grind his elbow into the side of my head until I begged because I didn’t want to die
-Throw me across the room, hit me & kick me
-Force me to have sex because I “needed” it when he was done hours later
I didn’t know what would happen after I decided enough was enough. I was terrified, uncertain, doubtful of myself. How would I make it through. Literally had to start all over, he had taken everything while I was working-even the children’s toothpaste.
But here I am, living my best life, better than I’ve ever been in all aspects. Don’t get me wrong, I still make some bad judgement calls. But I never thought I would be on the journey I am today-taking huge leaps out of my comfort zone. I’m still trying to find parts of me I’ve lost along the way; I even started writing again. Here’s to the next 365 days!
Today these three incredible ladies presented to girls competing in the @missazusa competition about the importance of mental health. It’s so important that we remind everyone to #EndTheStigma that constantly surrounds mental health and suicide. 💙 Visit @commitcampaign for more resources and more ways to raise awareness about mental health. #YouareNotAlone#CommitCampaign#WingedHope#HopeHeals
