Last night my 9-year old was having a hard time getting to sleep because he was nervous about the new school year and all the new expectations unknowns that come with it.
I’m always so grateful that he’ll still talk to me about what he’s feeling. And that he can articulate what’s weighing on him.
As he started to say some mean things to himself about himself, my heart broke. Why are we so hard on ourselves?!
So I talked to him about the words we use in our own heads, and showered him with encouragement, as I’m known to do.
And he went to bed.
Sometimes we all need to be reminded that we’ve got this.
We’re doing the best we can with the skills we have. 👇🏼
And if it’s going terribly, how can we get some new stills?
And P.S. when I couldn’t find my keys this morning and said out loud, “I’m a freakin’ mess this morning!” he sweetly said to me, “mom, don’t call yourself a mess!” ♥️ Teacher and student all at once, all the time.
And if you have a friend who needs the reminder “you’ve got this” please tag them (or call them and tell them yourself 😉). XO, Sage
▶️Word of the Day: Surrender it All to God
"My hands are lifted up
My heart is ready to receive
A blessing from you
A blessing from you
My heart is ready to receive
A blessing from you
A blessing from you" -Jovonta Patton
It's so easy to backslide or become stagnant in our walk with God. But we have to remind ourselves not to do so. One thing that helps me is self-checkins. I check my heart posture and evaluate my day. Did I give God any of my time today? If so, was I focused on Him during that time or did I allow life to get in the way and distract me? Asking the Holy Spirit about where you are falling short is important, because He will convict you. Now with that conviction, it is your choice to heed it and turn from your sins or remain in your sins. •
Repenting and turning from our sins are important steps that are needed for our salvation. We have to keep seeking God, desiring more of Him, surrendering everything to Him, leaning on Him, and calling on His strength. He has everything we need for every season of our lives. He has so much more blessings in store for us. We will see these blessings more clearly when we seek Him. When we surrender it all to God, He will break us to build us up. He will turn our mess into a message, our tests into testimonies, our mourning into gladness, our ashes into beauty, our weakness into strength. He will make us into all He's purposed us to be. He will shake the heavens and the earth on our behalf and mold us more into His perfect image. •
Keeping praying. Keep asking. Keep declaring. Keep seeking Him. And keep surrendering it all to God. Don't give up, backslide, or become stagnant. The blessings WILL come! •
In exactly 6 days we start our “preseason” here at @mbodyfusion. Just like our clients, we put ourselves through the physical and mental paces to get physically and mentally fit to handle their “seasons” (in the form of athletics and business). There’s a lot of prep work, there’s a lot of team building, and there’s a lot of learning that happens in this time period for us, and we cannot wait to tackle it.
We have exactly 35 days from Monday to make sure we iron out every detail and are prepared for everything that this season is going to throw at us. From helping rookies in the league go through their emotional roller coasters, to making sure every that individual we work with is growing in some way, we will be prepared. We have a bunch of new challenges to face this year and we couldn’t be more excited.
My promise this year to all of our athletes, business professionals, and partners is that we get the result, always. It’s not just about numbers or dollar signs, it’s about the factors you cannot see. The internal growth of a human being that happens as a result of an individual mentally elevating their mindset so they can physically behave differently. This is about pushing limits, and us earning the respect of individual we work with to make sure that we can pull the most out of them. Not too high, not too low; just the right amount of heat to really make a difference. No one is taken for granted - we’re all a part of the team.
To our new clients and staff - welcome, we’ve got your back. To our returning partners - we’re about to kick it up a notch. Day by day; the next play is all that matters. This is about to be a year full of excitement, and new experiences, and we cannot wait; this year #EveryoneMatters . It’s time to get comfortable being uncomfortable; everyone crosses the goal line this year. We’re not psychologists, nor positivity coaches; we’re High Performance Resiliency Coaches. We get YOU to the next level, no matter what.🏒🧠⚽️🏀🏈⚾️🥊🎮.
Dream Big!

On our trip to one of my favorite places, not only did we enjoy #BeverlyHills with @davidcarter1306 but I had the honor of performing for the innovative @claremontlincoln and doing an interview with him for his new podcast series, “Singing In The Rain.” The series takes a look at changemakers who are “singin’ in the rain” despite difficult times—artists, innovators, and educators who are brightening the horizons, pushing past negativity with persistent positivity. Thank you so much, David! Check out our interview through my Insta Stories. #singingintherain
Y grandes cosas pasan. GRANDES SUEÑOS DAN VIDA.

MY MOST IMPORTANT PODCAST EPISODE TO DATE.
I say this because it specifically speaks to one of my biggest goals for this podcast, which is to demonstrate specifically to pastors the need for, and the ease, functionality, and benefits of creating a podcast.
This episode is mostly a collection of pieces of video clips from the past two weeks that I’ve converted into audio. As a busy pastor, you, at the very least, can create a podcast just like this where you share pieces of content you’ve created throughout the week, append some introductory and closing thoughts onto it to pull it all together, and hit publish (and add just a little bit of production to it to make it sound good...but that’s what I’m here for).
I pray this episode gives you an example of what you can do and the inspiration to do it. [equip|empower]
