Just ignore how ugly my face is looking lately, I am feeling super exhausted working this weekend and just doing life! But today was an active rest day, so just some light cardio and of course pose practice which was nice! I am feeling really good within myself currently, weight has stayed the same as last week, however this is the week before ‘my time of the month’ and I always increase weight from 0.5-2kg during this week. So the fact that I am the same actually is very encouraging. However I am feeling tired and my last few weight training sessions felt difficult and low energy! The prep feels have certainly set in, especially when I woke up with blood shot eyes and the worst bags I’ve ever seen. However, we will see how today’s rest day from weights effects tomorrow’s workout. My coach always likes me to report back to him on my energy levels and how I am feeling as I may require complete rest or I may require a refeed. It’s good to have a coach that works closely with you to pick up on these things as for me I just want to go go go, push push push. But sometimes, that’s not always the best thing and other times it is. This is why we have coaches! Anyway, I am preparing for another long day at work, but I am in a great mood, so I’m predicting another good day! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!
We are fast approaching the 11 week out mile stone! I can’t believe I’ve nearly completed 10 weeks of prep already, that has absolutely flown by!!! So the prep feels have started to set in with the recent calorie drop, although very small, I used to get intra-workout carbs that I now no longer get them and I can definitely feel it. It’s crazy how something as small as 100kcals can make a huge difference to the energy. However, I am going to keep pushing hard in the workouts as I would like the maintain the mass I have built. I would love to look full as well as conditioned! I don’t want to walk into a show knowing I don’t look my best, I want to be at my best. I want to be super conditioned whilst full, I want to know I have done everything I can! Literally since last season I have been working toward this, kept consistent through out the whole of my offseason, no slack weeks. I am now pushing hard to maintain the power in the workouts whilst sticking to my diet to slowly melt the fat. I have been pose practising every day! Knowing that I have done and I am doing absolutely everything I can to achieve my best physique yet, actually takes off the pressure. I am going to step on stage this year knowing I couldn’t do any more, that I am at my best and feeling very proud regardless of the outcome! 🙌🏽 Although who is competing without the aim to win right? 🏆🥇
This booty will be the death of me! Perfect for every day life but causes point deductions on the stage! Alllllllllll my fat resides in this place! Genetically I am a pear shape, and my back and upper body gets built fairly easily! Instead of using that as a an excuse however, I’m trying to over come this by getting my head down and working f***ing HARD!!!! The amount of work going into building and sculpting these legs and this booty for the stage is unreal, but I know it will be worth it when I reach my goal! I built the muscle I needed in my offseason and now this slow progressive dieting is gradually melting the fat off! I feel like you can achieve anything you put your mind to, and my mind is FULLY on this prep!!! .
But let’s be honest, it’s always great when you find gym clothes that enhance your shape, especially the booty! Here I am representing @gym.attitude my current favourite gym clothing brand! Not only are their products flattering and shape enhancing, they’re of a very high quality but are still affordable!!!! They’re super fashionable and I always feel great in any of their clothes. Here I am wearing the Aura leggings, this is the new colour to be coming out which I am OBSESSED with! All of these leggings are squat proof, breathable and super stretchy and I pretty much live in them!!! The sports bras as well come with amazing boob support and they come with extra bra pads too! Go check them outtttt!
Journal update: Today I woke up feeling extremely motivated and raring to go! It helps to also see the weight on the scale drop, although I don’t care what my weight itself is, it’s just an indicator that things are still moving along. Progress is a little slower now as my calories still haven’t been dropped and I got sick at the start of the week, but we are going into this slow and steady! None the less i have now dropped 6.2kg in the past 9 weeks and I am still consuming a minimum of 2000kcals and the cardio is only 3 sessions of 30 mins of LISS and 2 sessions of 6 lots of 20 sec sprints with 2 mins of rest! So realistically we still have a lot to play with over the next 12 weeks!!! More than anything I am super super happy with how the glutes and hammies are starting to shape up as I do still worry about them not coming in on time! There’s just so much fat that resides there and doesn’t like to come off, but there is also a lot of muscle there too that I am hoping to reveal week by week! It’s pretty cool that my abs came in so soon this year and my back and shoulders have always shaped fairly easily for me! Super super excited to see the changes over the coming weeks! .
Today’s session was HARD! Again I wasn’t really feeling today’s workout when I started, I got a late night last night and woke up naturally early, and didn’t feel well rested!!! I always start my sessions with my most strenuous and my least favourite exercises to just smash them and get them out of the way! Of course I push hard on them or I will only be cheating myself!!! But when I finally reached the exercises I enjoy doing, the spark came back and I felt super motivated and dominated my workout! Even the hellish interval sprints which have once again got my calves in BITS!!!! .
I always try to put my all into all of my workouts, even if I am not feeling it! In fact, it tends to make me push even harder when I am not in the mood which then puts me in the mood if that makes sense? But especially since I am now cutting, I feel it’s paramount to give my workouts my everything. I find a lot of people think that the cardio will predominantly melt the fat off, which yes it will certainly help. But I feel a hard core sweaty weight training sesh will burn a hell of a lot more than some LISS! And when combined 💥 ....don’t go half hearted on the weights just because you’re dieting and you think the hard work is over! You want to maintain that hard earned muscle you built in your offseason when you had the food to energise you and build build build! That takes hustle and hard work, because the energy levels will be lowered, but it will all be worth the struggle. Equally however, there is that fine line where it goes too far, the calories are inadequate and you start to lose your muscle too. But that’s why it’s important to have a good coach who you can put your trust in and knows what they are doing and can tell when you are getting run down!!! Anyway, I’ve talked far too much today! Have a great weekend everyone!! .
Some footage from yesterday’s chest, tricep and shoulder session!!! I wasn’t in the mood to work out at all yesterday morning, but the combination of having @neashab there and pushing myself got me in the mood and it was a great workout! 💪🏽 Camera footage credit goes to Neasha too, thanks girl! Sometimes it takes seeing clips of yourself like this to confirm you are progressing and you are moving forwards. Prep is such a mind fuck at the best of times and has your mood and opinions of yourself up and down every 5 seconds! One min I’m all proud and emotional the hard work is paying off, the next minute I feel gross and like I’m not moving forwards. This is why we get ourselves good coaches we can put our trust in and keep us moving forwards! I couldn’t do this without my amazing coach @paul_asgardgym !!!! Honestly, I appreciate how he goes above and beyond his role of a coach! I can message him bullshit at 5am and he responds with useful info! Whilst motivating me, he doesn’t allow me to get complacent and not to mention devising my a prep plan that suits my body’s needs!!!! I’m so appreciative of all my supporters on the gram and in person too. Your kind words keep me pushing hard! I can be moody and anti social at times I know, but I’m thankful for all the support I’ve got in my life. And one last huge shoutout to my hubby @drewchainz87 who supports me to the end of the earth! Currently deployed in a different continent and still throws me motivational support and is just there for me. I am just feeling super thankful today it’s unreal!!!! 13 weeks to go still....

Good morning insta fammmmm!!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far! Yesterday I achieved a 160kg rack pull which left me almost disabled for today’s workout 😂! The plan was to train legs but my back muscles are soooo sore, they couldn’t support me on anything! So I did a few sets of light squats, some leg press and even on leg press my back was feeling super sore. Soooo I swapped tomorrow’s workout for today and trained arms instead, followed by 30 mins with my best friend the stair mill. So it turned out to be yet another buzzing workout 🙌🏽! Also I weighed in this morning at 58.5kg!!! Absolute mad drop! I have a feeling it’s a one day thing though 😂! No rest for the wicked though, today will be a busy day of house work, revision, working on my project and a posing 1-2-1. .

Hey guys, hi, hello 👋🏽 hoping everyone has had a productive week and is enjoying their weekend! Just a little update from me with where I am at and how I am feeling. So over all I’m very very happy with how things are, how I am looking, how I am feeling etc! I am enjoying this prep so far as my energy in the gym is still very there and I am feeling focused and motivated and still really enjoying my workouts! I love to pose practice and help others also get their posing on point! I’m more than happy with my food and calories, every now and again I feel pretty hungry and get some cravings, but all is well so far. But, I am finding my job is reaaaaaaally taking it out of my at the moment! I’m ok for the first 8 hours, and it’s from there I’m staring at the clock, dragging my feet around and feeling like I need a nap! And the reality is I still then have to survive another 4 hours and if it’s a long day even longer. And with only a 45 min break, my gaddddd I am tired! Also my degree takes its toll on my mind and stress levels! So, what I need to do is manage my degree work load. Plan out what I am going to do and when and stick to it! Get it done and out the way to lessen to stress! I am soooo so so close to finishing this degree, yet so far! So I must push on but I have contemplated quitting numerous times haha! On top of that, not having my best friend with me to vent with and cuddle sometimes can be hard, but he’s so worth it. Anyway, a bit of a ramble there, but I like to be open and honest! And not just portray that I am constantly fine and dandy cause I am not! I have my low days, but it’s about picking out those positives and pushing through it! There will be good days too! Ok, I am rambling again, let’s just leave it there...
🎶 Call me buffy, cause that’s what I slay like 🎵 .
So past me be like, no slacking and nothing but hard work during this offseason, so future me be like, wow all this graft was so worth it!! Past me was correct, the difference a decent off season makes is incredible. I’m coming up 4 weeks into prep and almost 17 weeks out, I’m still on pretty decent cals and I’m making changes each week! Weighed in dead on 60kg this morning and feeling tighter too! Honestly can’t wait to see how I’ll look each week, it’s only motivated me to push harder! So far this prep has been a breeze compared to past preps, simply because I was in a good place to start with! The hard work isn’t over during offseason, to be honest, your hardest sessions should be in your offseason. It’s an improvement season! You have the extra cals to push harder to improve and nourish yourself and recover effectively! Now that I am on season, I am still striving for improvement, however I am mostly maintaining what I have built whilst slowly melting away the fat and focusing on posing and stage presence! This is my year guys...
A couple of screen shots from this morning’s pose sesh! It’s soooooo so so important to get practising ASAP! People underestimate how hard posing actually is! It’s good to start in your offseason. Start by reading the rules of your federation, then start watching YouTube vids and try and get a feel of what to do. It’s good if you can get some lessons or seminars so someone can guide you and let you know where you need to improve if you can! You need to know how to enhance your best bits whilst walking in heels and looking confident and graceful all at the same time. It’s no good spending all that time on your physique if your stage presence is not up to standard!!! Get practising !!!!!
