♥️Rosso - madre terra
💛Giallo - forza e energia
💜Viola - ideologia andina e potere comunitario
💙Azzurro - spazio cosmico infinito
🧡Arancione - società e cultura andina
💚Verde - ricchezze naturali
🇬🇧 The whipala, the flag of the ancient Andean people, became the second official flag of Bolivia in 2008.
🏳️🌈I have always loved flags and I adore the whipala (a word which means “flag” in aymara), so colorful and original.
🇨🇻🇨🇦🇧🇯 What about you? What’s your favorite flag?🇧🇦🇧🇭
The whipala represents the philosophy and culture of the Andean people: its square shape symbolizes harmony, while the small squares mean that all the Andean peoples are equal even in their differences.
Do you know what the different colors in the flag mean?
♥️Red - Mother Earth
💛Yellow - strength and energy 💜 Purple - Andean ideology and the power of the community 💙Blue - cosmic space
🧡Orange - Andean culture and society 💚Green - the riches of nature
◽️White - time and the transformation it brings .
[ENG] SA-DAY 45: ISABELA ISLAND: the largest of 21 islands of Galapagos arhipelago, and in 5 that are inhabited. The island is much bigger and the village is much smaller than in Santa Cruz island, so animals are here the most important habitants. The minute you step out of the boat you need to jump over bunch of iguanas and sea lions. Here we saw our first giant sea turtle and after that we visited Tortoise breeding center to see a land turtles as well. Their mission is to help to increase number of land turtles after people hunted them for years for eating. After the turtles are big enough they put them in the wild where they belong. On the way to the center is a bonus spot - flamingo lake - these birds are even more spectacular than you imagined. 🤩

It's crazy for me knowing this was 3 years ago. Despite everything I've done since, I really do remember it like it was yesterday..every little detail. This was at the Salt Flats in Bolivia, during our huge trip through South and Central America, one of the best experiences of my life!!!
I love finding little hidden gems!! This hotel was $60 a night and had an amazing infinity pool looking into the jungle. There are only 10ish cabanas and no one at the pool the whole time we were there! Such a magical way to turn the day around after our Brazilian fail! We have a flight back to Buenos Aires today, however they cancelled all the flights yesterday due to an airport strike. We heard things are back to normal today (although our flight has already been delayed by an hour). Keep your fingers crossed or else we have to take an 18hour bus back! #travelingcouple#southamericanadventure#backpackingsouthamerica#iguazufalls#puertoiguazu#raicesamambai
We spent the first day visiting the Argentinan side of Iguazú falls. There are three main trails, all with different viewpoints of the falls...some really up close and other further away so you can really appreciate how huge these things are. We also tried to go see them from the Brazilian side, but we were denied entry at the Brazilian border due to not having a visa 🤦🏻♀️. Luckily, there was another bus going back to Argentina about 30 minutes behind and we were able to go back into town and enjoy the day at our hotel. Oh well!! I heard the Argentinian side is better anyways! #travelingcouple#backpackingsouthamerica#travelingcouples#southamericanadventure

It’s only been 5 months since I’ve been back from Peru. I miss it every.single.day and I would go back in a second.
Lots of grace has had to be given. I get caught up on the idea of not being “on the right track”. Culture shock is still being felt and dealt with daily. And finding and embracing the confidence in who I am and the path that is still unfolding before me.
Grace is good, real good. But how often do we give grace to ourselves like we so openly give to others?
I don’t know- Early morning thoughts - but on a less serious note here’s a #throwbackthursday of me and @nanni.heese swimming in the Madre de Dios River in the Amazon rainforest.
@followthesuntravel says, “This part of #machupicchu it special, not everyone comes here! It's a mountain called #huaynapicchu and the views are completely insane! Not advisable for people with vertigo! ⛰️😲
There are only 400 permits per day and usually sold out a few months in advance! Start preparing for your 2019 trip!
Day 48: What was supposed to be an easy hike turned into an adventure. A heavy storm forced us to break into a nearby house for shelter. After waiting for some time for lighter rain we continued walking, only to find out the trail had turned into a river. We had to wait for the water to drain enough for us to cross. Once we reached the bus that was supposed to take us back to the city, we learned that the rain had destroyed the road and the bus couldn't pass. With the help of locals, shovels and stones we managed to fix the road enough to push the bus through.
