A conversation I filmed right before my friend Clay took a greyhound bus with one suitcase, one backpack, and his bicycle from Gainesville, Georgia to Washington, Virginia.
Clay. I’ve known him since middle school. His motorcycle stopped working and he’s selling it to me for $500. He took a greyhound bus to Washington, Virginia today from Gainesville, Georgia. He’s staying with a mutual friend we have who is stationed there. My friends don’t know about this account. They think I’m just making a documentary about a motorcycle trip but it’s become a lot more than that. I want to know why people travel. Why people leave things behind.
My older sister. She’s the first person I ever told about my goal of taking a motorcycle across America. I told her before I even decided to start making a documentary out of the journey. She told me that when I leave I should call/text her often so she knows I’m okay.
