//Thai food series part 2//
🍃ส้มตำ/green papaya salad
🍃Originally from Laos as a variant of ‘tam som’ (translates literally to “pounding of sour ingredients”)
🍃This typical lunch felt like a feast opposite the King’s Hospital, Siriraj, @somtum.yupin and includes larb, grilled chicken, somtum and fried corn fritters 🤩
Also finally got to try Ban Som Tum. Also, again, based on Yelp review. Again, a fail. I dont know if the lack of authentic flavor is because they cater to their American patron or.....what? Again, decor, atmosphere, and service all excellent. I got thai tea coffee which was AMAZING. The thai jerky was without a doubt the best dish we got. Their jeow is tomatoes based. Uh, yea, no good. Tasted like tomato sauce and chili. My brother loved his crying tiger pork tho but let's not forget...my brother is very Americanized. He can live off of pizza and burgers and 7/11 deli haha. Their thai dinner tray was a major let down. Ordered it Laos style. My papaya salad had one salted crab SHELL. The only thing on the tray I actually enjoyed was the deep fried sticky rice. The very last photo (not my photo) is a comparison of what a dinner tray from Loak Toung Thai looks like. Loak Toung Thai has never failed me on authenticity. I'm never disappointed there.
