We did it! 💯 And still one day left in the campaign! It has been quite a journey. A journey with a happy ending. My deepest and most heartfelt gracias to all that contributed to make a longtime dream come true. Every single contribution, regardless of the amount, was important. It got us to this day. And every single contribution meant support. That especially has meant everything to me. Thank you everyone!
P.S. We are actually past 100% with some contributions going directly to the fiscal agent! We are into our “Stretch Goal” dollars that will help get us to post production! Still time to support. Campaign ends tomorrow, Sunday! #gaytinoshoot
Thanks to everyone who braved those ominous clouds and visited The Front today! We’ll be open again tomorrow, 12-5pm. Be sure to swing through and check out our stellar lineup of shows. Including this absolute stunner by David Bordett.
The Patient Gothic Chisel
David Bordett (b.1991) is a New York based artist making regular returns to New Orleans. He grew up in the Appalachian region of Virginia, and would go on to receive his BFA from the department of sculpture and extended media and VCU.
The Patient Gothic Chisel opens @thefrontnola tomorrow evening from 6-9 and will be on view through November 4.
Thank you to my friends who have helped and supported me over the last several months to realize these works in many different ways. In particular I want to mention @wabi_sobby @hotforcrime @cad_call @bencopolillo @sticksnstonesbones @aaronlevigarvey @tbone_keene and @_hetaerae You were all essential and I can’t properly express the full extent of my gratitude for your individual expertise, patience, and generosity.
Final weekend in the studio before packing it all up and heading south to Anchorage for a show @alaskapacific. The name of the show is ONSITE. It comprises 12 (maybe 13?) new works that were all started (some completed) in the field, in four main areas of Alaska: the Wrangells, Eastern Alaska Range, Valdez, and Endicott Arm. Show opens at APU on Friday November 2nd at 5. Photo by @latitude64_photography 🤓
Give us this day our daily dose of faux affliction
Forgive our sins forged at the pulpit
With forked tongues selling faux sermons
Because I am a new wave gospel sharp
And you'll be thy witness
So gentlemen, if you're gonna preach
For God sakes preach with conviction!

In addition to documenting former WWII Baltic DP camps, I’ve been taking portraits of former DP’s housed in those camps. If you are of Baltic origin and have been in a German DP camp or have had relatives in one. Please reach out! email@example.com
"I made this show even though I didn't think I could. I didn't want to. Everything sucks. I made this show by leaning back on those that came before me and drawing their breath through my lungs, puffing my chest out, pretending I could. I made this show even though it feels like the end of the world. Because I think this might also be what the beginning feels like. A glittering rage, a head full of history but still laughing and bothering to paint my nails, to show up, to show out, to embody.” BLACK SKY opens 2nite in LA @charliejamesgallery 6-9pm
It's all change this evening as our upper floor exhibitions come down. On Monday, Keith Turley's solo show 'A Fair Day's Work' will open to the public. Keith is holding his first solo exhibition at the RBSA Gallery. The show features large, striking canvases of portraits and figures in working environments. There are strong Black Country references in the form of chain-making, glassmaking and canals. However, a range of other crafts and portraits are also featured. On the first floor we will have our Autumn Workshops. There are still some spaces on a few workshops, so call or email us to book onto a workshop, or find out more information. ⠀
I am so excited about this mount! And even more so to add it’s counterpart! I did a double burn- #shousugiban style -and then went at it with a wire brush. The sap oozed from the knots as it fueled its own destruction. And was- by far- the most pleasurable slab of wood burned to date. This wood has some soul in it for sure!
My first show- Transformations - opens Saturday October 27th at @cincyhive! Opening reception is 1-3 so easily squeezed into your busy Saturday. 😊. The exhibit will feature my bone art and The creatures of why- and unlike anything you’ve seen..........
#30forartsource This painting is called energise. The power and intensity of the sea is all over this one! It was a tough one to paint. My first wave, and I loved the challenge. The original of this has already sold but did you know you can get prints to any size you like? You can go way bigger than the original without loosing any detail or clarity.the scanner used for this is state of the art and captures ever little detail. So when a print is made the quality is just outstanding!!! #frantheartist
