What should I do here? I am NOT interested in making socks. I was going to make these for my mother but she said that even the softest socks irritate her feet. I am not going to put the effort in if she's most likely still going to have an issue. And I'm totally not into knitting these. I started months ago and have barely knit on them. Should I keep them and force myself to complete one pair of socks before I make up my mind about #handknitsocks ? Or should I gift the yarn to a random Instagram knitter who would like to make use of the yarn?
It's #manosdeluruguay in manglar.
It's our 9-year anniversary and the socks I made him fit perfectly!
Pattern: @sockmatician's Toe Ups
Just a lazy Wednesday night sitting on my couch, wrapped in a bed blanket, knitting my newest vanilla sock. 😚 Like a very cool 80 year old which is very appropriate after all of the bar hopping and Christmas market trips I participated in during the last few weeks. 👵🤶
Help! I’ve got castonitis! Does this count as a finished pair? 😆 I’ve got to finish the green one by Christmas Eve and the Hippo for Hanukkah by, well, next Hanukkah I suppose. 🙄 I usually knit one pair at a time. #livingdangerously
First time knitting sock with 9” circular and I am in love! You can go so much faster when you don’t have to pause to scooch the stitch every half round. Only downside is you can’t do taat. #sockknitting#patonkroysockyarn
Less than 2 weeks until Christmas and I’m still working on gifts... At this time of the year I usually start to panic because I‘m afraid of not finishing everything in time... This is why I decided that I‘ll only gift small things like socks or mittens this year but even though I started early I‘m starting to get a little nervous about Christmas. How are your preparations going?
I’m so happy that all of my Christmas knitting projects are completed! Now I’m working on a special project at home at nights and LOVING knitting a pair of Christmas socks for me during my lunch knitting!
It has been about a year since I’ve knitted a sock, so it’s definitely been weird knitting on tiny needles!
Yarn: Merry Grinchmas by @longdogyarn
Bag: @erinlanebags .
I’ve been working on so many secret projects lately - it’s been tough to try to find things to share with you guys! There’s been a whole lot of gift knitting the past few weeks which I can’t post about on here yet so surprises aren’t ruined. Spinning has been a bit on hold due to all the knitting, so I don’t even have much in the way of that to show you!
I do have a sneak peek of these socks, which will be released in February. If you’re in a climate like mine, socks are a must during the winter in the house, and these are designed to be your super cozy house socks, made just for chasing the chill away.
I love the diversity of yarns just for socks - I’m a real workhorse sock yarn gal because mine get a LOT of abuse for six months of the year. But designing a sock using a more luxurious yarn just for a pair to wear in the house has been a lovely change for me - it’s wonderful to have a pair reserved for sleeping or curling up on the couch in!
Green Ochre Kid Mohair/Silk and Buttercream Dream pair so beautifully together. Buttercream Dream has a subtle pear green undertone that really shines through when put up next to this Mohair skein. Both are available in the shop now. #fiberforthepeopleyarn
Don’t forget, my giveaway is still going on! Follow me, repost this and tag me for one entry. Or post your WIP/FOs with my Christmas colorways up to five times for extra entries. Winner will be drawn on January 2nd - ish!
Alright folks, you’ve spoken and I’ve listened. Since the last time I reposted this gorgeous knit by @tifneilann (it’s the Free Spirit Cowl and it’s in the design stages now. A call for test knitters is coming soon. Follow Tif 👆 to keep posted.) I have had a ton of requests for Lights Through the Trees on the Merino Bulky base (shown here). 🙏🙏🥰🥰If I haven’t replied to your DM yet, I will ASAP. In the meantime, I’m going to open up preorder listings for Lights Through the Trees on the Merino Bulky base this Saturday at 10 AM PST. There will be many listings (considering the last big ready-to-ship batch I dyed sold out within hours) so you’ll most likely have a chance to get a good number of skeins if needed. As these are preorders, and since Christmas is only weeks away, they won’t ship until early January. If you’re excited about this and have been looking to get your hands on not only this pretty colorway, but also this scrumptious Merino yarn, include a 🧶 in your comment down below. ❤️ #fiberforthepeopleyarn
Today we have a game for you! Let us know your favorite heel in the comments and one lucky winner will win a sock pattern each from @artesanitarium @maryerosedesigns and me! Good luck, I‘m excited to hear from you 💕
Finished Soul Sister socks 😍
Pattern by @sewsweetviolet and @littletailoress plus whirlwind toe and fish lips kiss heel. I doubt I'll use the fish lips kiss heel again as I just can't seem to avoid the dreaded heel hole!
Yarn from @lainamouree
Blockers from @theknittingshed
Texture for days 😍 Loving simple, textured stitch patterns at the moment (and yarns with amazing stitch definition!) And my Christmas cactus buds are still getting bigger!
Just finished Stowe hat from the Plum Dandi Knits book (@aliciaplums ) in French Market Fibers cashmere worsted blend. Current socks in progress are the Snowfall socks by @awesome._.socks in @twistedfintch color Winter Sky.
