Anyone else missing the weekend?! 🙋♀️ You know it was a good one when you and your friends kiddos had dirty feet and sweaty faces all weekend long ☀️ Feeling grateful for a couple of relaxing days and woke up ready to tackle the week 🙌
And while Mondays are my busiest days, I make them sweeter with fresh flowers and lemons. It’s my Monday ritual and always helps me start the week feeling refreshed 🌿🍋💐
How do you make your Mondays feel less like a Monday?
"Stop overintellectualizing everything," my acting coach would say, shaking his head. Rather than living in the moment, I overthought all my moves, which does not make for an inspired performance. Later, I would learn I was also looking at my scripts from the lens of a writer, rather than an actor.
This realization became a gift as it steered me to pursue what I was more passionate about: writing and later digital marketing and entrepreneurship.
Thanks to my amazing life coach and friend, @thedazdanks, I have learned how to stop my busy thoughts in their tracks.
Being able to pull back on overthinking will not only help your sanity but your productivity. Trust! Anyone else deal with overthinking? 🤔 Sound off in the comments!
A picture is worth a thousand words… and if you share one that is not public domain, one of those words could be “copyright”. Before you post - follow these tips, to ensure you aren’t violating any “copyright laws”. *
1. Understand the basics of Copyright. You don’t need to read a law book, but know the facts!....(and btw, Google Images is NOT a free or legal source of images!) *
2. Read and understand the terms for your Social Media platforms.
3. Choose the right license when using stock images. And know what you are getting when you pay!
4. When in doubt, ask for permission from the image creator.

Connecting socially and environmentally conscious companies - with equally minded target audiences.
That - is part of my purpose - and why I love what I do.
Social media was something I did for fun and something I was good at.
It has become not only something that I am good at... but it has become a powerful tool for me in my purpose as I've aligned my work with my personal values and made it one facet of how I "serve".
Social media is SUCH a powerful tool and one that can be used to support positive change and spread awareness on important social issues and to even to spread love and compassion for those who need it.*
One of my favorite concepts in life, and in business, is of "narrative identity." Defined by the stories that make up your life, narrative identity is perhaps the most telling aspect of who we are, as our experiences cannot be put in a box in the way race, sexuality, and even profession often do.
We are composed of stories as intricate as our DNA, and these stories have shaped us into who we are today.
And none of us have a singular story, but rather multiple stories that come together to make a prismatic one.
So, how to leverage story for both professional and social impact? Answers can be found in the Social Media Storytelling Academy, which will be reopening for membership and course sign ups soon. DM me to learn more. <3
Throwing it back. A sorority sister found this pic of me, I’m thinking it’s somewhere around my last year of grad school. I have a lot of mixed emotions looking at it... 🌸
I’m shocked at my smile. I rarely give a full toothy smile. Perhaps it’s the age of selfies and I’m more aware, but I love it here and I’m going to work on it. 🌸
My skin! Oh my word how age affects us, I’m sure I’m wearing foundation (which I haven’t done in 20 years) and it makes me want to spend time on myself. . 🌸
My eyebrows. I love them. . 🌸
I wonder what I was thinking. I probably thought everything was going to be amazing. I was about be a doctor and everything was just going to be grand. Would I have wanted to know what my future held? Would you? . 🌸
What would you tell your younger self?
Boatin’ yesterday was so much fun. We took our Australian Shepherd, Roxy, we taught our best friend’s’ son how to wakeboard (Draiden’s a natural) and enjoyed great company! I love Summer weekends with so much fun packed into one day like that. Can we just figure out how to extend the weekend? ❤️
🖤🖤🖤 @blackbowcomm (our favorite Pinterest expert who has some BALLER packages to help your 📌📌 get found) has taken over our stories!

This week making you crazy? Don’t worry, you’re not alone!! 😜
I’m packing up to head to Boston for the weekend and @theknotpro workshop on Tuesday. Who will I get to see there?!

Work. Work. Work.
☕️ It's Friday! Which doesn't really mean much as an entrepreneur (LOL) but, today I am working on deadlines all morning so that I can take the afternoon off and go for a MUCH needed haircut.
Doesn't sound like much - but - when you're a mom of two under 2 an hour at the hair salon to myself sounds like heaven. 👌🏻
What are you working on today?

As a social media manager, I am all to aware of the level of "connection" that exists in my life.
Any by connection I mean.. internet connection 🤓
An inordinate amount of media infiltrates my consciousness on a daily basis and as a spiritual and sensitive person to EMFs, I consistently need to ground myself and take time to connect with myself on a deeper level to "clear the static". For me, being in / near water and walking barefoot on the earth is the most cleansing ways to cleanse myself and reset myself.
Social media and the internet is an amazing tool to connect, but nothing beats the soul connection we need to make with ourself.
"Relax, enjoy, unwind"
Last day in the office for me today, next week I embark on my 'screen-free' week... it will be a challenge but also exciting, I cannot wait to see the creativity that evolves from a week away from my devices!
I hope you've all had a super productive week, if you're in NZ I hope you've found the perfect balance between working and taking care of the little ones during their School break.
Why not plan a trip and leave your work behind for once! - No? That probably seems like a made up fantasy ✨ ◾️
OR NOT!? With the remote help of Va's in todays vast world. You have access to the best resource your business needs!
Got your passport? GREAT! We'll take care of the rest ;) ----
Got to do an interview this morning about how my 60 second social media tip series changed my business! 💃🏻 That’s right, that little video series has brought me a lot of business and opportunities. So, why are you still avoiding video? 🤷♀️
If you need a little help, visit the link in my bio and sign up for my free 7 Day DIY Video Challenge. I’ll walk you through the process and tell you some of my secrets. 😘
Help me out. 😭Oh my gosh mamas! Anyone else have a senior? I honestly didn’t think I would be this emotional about it. I’m literally an emotional wreck everyday. (I didn’t understand when other people were like this). Every day she gets offers from Colleges farther and farther away from me.... I definitely raised her to be independent and I knew this was coming, but oh my gosh I like her as a person and I’m going to miss hanging out with her. What do you all do when your senior heads to college? How do you deal?
Sometimes we try things and we succeed and other times we fail miserably. And often we can overcome the obstacles and grow and see success. .
Unless it’s me and gardening. I want a have a beautiful garden. I don’t have a green thumb, and I don’t have time to put it to it. .
And that’s the facts, so I solve my problem and just plant hydrangeas in every empty spot. .
You can do anything, but you can’t do everything.

When I first started out in my career as a copywriter, I was pretty shy and albeit a bit skeptical with regards to my skill level.
More often than not, I would tend to hold back on some of my "wilder" ideas with the fear of them being "shut down" or considered the "wrong approach". Eventually I got over this fear, but, if I could go back in time and talk to 18 year old me I would tell her this:
Let go of fear.
Wear your creativity like a shield of Armour.
Though an idea may be "wrong" for certain clients, there truly are no "bad ideas". Keep the unused ones in your back pocket, you never know when you will need them. ✌️
Yes, I’ve been traveling a lot and no signs of stopping anytime soon. However sometimes you have to make it happen and get creative. This is about 3 hours into a 13 hour drive to get to Provo. I’m so excited to be invited to share some of our team’s social media tips.
living that free slurpee life🥤
How many of you went with your crew to @7eleven and snagged a @slurpee?✋🏻
@bigspotbrandonscott @ymoonyoz @dd_baby and I took a break to beat the heat. Ironically having to trudge through the hot, hot streets to get one.
"Why would I need a Social Media Manager?"
"I know how to post pictures of my products.."
"I don't know if I can afford a Social Media Manager." *
The simple truth, is that you can't afford NOT to.
While you may know how to use Social Media - you may not be utilizing it for all it's worth. It's not enough to just post images. You need strategy, well-thought-out captions & copy, most importantly you need a plan.
Let me help. 🙌
