World Circus Day is a unique opportunity for circuses and performers to honor the beauty and skillfulness of this classic art form as well as its growing social role and increasing prestige. This year's celebration is especially significant because it coincides with the 250th anniversary of the founding of the modern circus.

Those who can't participate in the free juggling class on the 21st are welcome to join the organization's Juggling Club, which meets every Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. #Circusharmony#citymuseum#socialcircus circus arts #circuseveryday#socialcircussaturday#jugglers

Social circus goes beyond performance. Social circus initiatives aim to positively impact people, communities, and the world at large with imagination and creativity. Cirque du Monde is a Cirque du Soleil program that promotes circus arts as a means of intervention with at-risk youth. Cirque du Monde focuses its actions on training for practitioners, support for social circus organizations and advocacy on the benefits of social circus. Circus isn't always just about flips and aerial arts. Circus also encompasses theater, puppetry, and make believe. Like Wise Fool in New Mexico, where the puppets are larger than life. It is Wise Fool New Mexico's mission to ignite imagination, build community, and promote social justice through performances and hands-on experiences in the arts of circus, puppetry, and theatre. Wise Fool is a beloved and award-winning non-profit organization at the center of Santa Fe's community arts scene. They were also participants in our SEL study that showed us of what we already knew - circus works!

The power of performance in youth circus is significant. A performance is a relationship between performer and audience. It has the power to bring joy and inspiration to both parties. This joy creeps into the other areas of our lives and can have lasting effects on the community. This is part of what makes circus a remarkable tool for social change. #socialcircussaturday
