Last night, @shafernick kicked off our peak weekend with an easy #snatch PR! The club has had a quick turn around from the AO2 to this weekends @kilodelphiabarbell meet- but after today, we’ll be focusing on a longer-term strength cycle with less of a focus on peaking for specific events (*breathes huge sigh of relief) Stay tuned to see how our 8 lifters perform today!
Although this is an “accidental” booty shot my butt doesn’t “accidentally” look this way. Just like I’m not “accidentally” strong as I was told on FB yesterday. Anyone that knows me knows that strength and coordination do not occur naturally for me. I’ve worked my butt off (or on)for years.... and as for my butt.... anyone that knows my mom knows I am fighting pancake butt syndrome (sorry mom). I’m proud of my progress and trust me when I tell you none of this is an accident.
Brincadeira para o fim de semana, quem vou tentar?🙋🏼🙋🏽♂️🙋🏾

"Absurd. Unsupported. Not evidenced based. Not a validated clinical test. Not a validated biomechanical assumption about people in pain. Yet, every patient with knee, hip or low back pain will be told this. And every third patient with shoulder pain will be told this. its an old theory that people who have pain have "inhibited" glute muscles. Its never been supported but its been said 1,376,789 times (this is just an estimate based on the same science that promoted the theory. In other words, none). I'm not saying resistance training for the Gluteus Maximus is not helpful for people in pain. I am saying that telling people that they have pain because their glutes don't turn on properly is unsupported and for many harmful. I've had patients concerned that their butt muscles weren't firing when they walked. The diagnosis for this is ... Normal Human. They don't need to work when you walk. That is not their job.
We have pathologized normal and our patients are paying the price.
It started with imaging. We could "find" things that looked funny on a scan and then said that's why you have pain. We know that's not true. And now we have started inventing things (scar tissue and fibrous adhesions in kids, butt muscles not turning on, Text Neck, bubble blowing discs) to scare people and create more disability and pain.” - Greg Lehman blog (Watch your mouth. The nonsense is breaking many.)
