✨ ALL CHANGE ✨
I’ve been waiting for this tree, near where we live, to change and now it’s at its most perfect! For me, when this turns, it’s 🍂autumn. (Aside from the fact it’s actually roasting hot!)
There’s also change going on in my Facebook Group too... Eeeeee! ✨
I’ve invested in doing some work on my group and how I can take it forward and really make it a space where the members feel like it’s THEIRS. I want them to feel SEEN and HEARD inside the group but also, and perhaps more to the point, outside the group in their social media spaces. Apt, as my word of the year has been SEEN, with secondary word, HEARD.
Our new group mission is:
“We’re on a mission to be seen and heard on social media. We will not be invisible” AND I LOVE IT! 🤩✨
Working on a name change too but can’t quite nail it yet. What group names really catch your attention? What’s in a good group name??
The folks that you need to connect with regularly will be all in one place without the chatter of everyone else you follow. Want more info on how to create lists? Let us know. We're happy to help. #AspenGroveMarketing
Talk about social media faux pass, posting twice in one day. However. I couldn't wait for these little beauties.
This is Remy, and Remy along with my partner, family and friends have shown me the importance of what it means to come home from work, each and every damn day.
I've worked in construction for over ten years, I know how hard it can get on people mentally. It's a tough and fickle industry. But that's probably why most of us love it.
I know I do! I couldn't imagine working in any other sector.
In all my years of experience, I always prided myself on delivering exceptional work, in a heavily dominated environment you have to learn to stand out, produce results and never fail to be the go to support so many of my male (and female) counterparts needed!
What industry do you work in? How many other gals are out there in male dominated environments absolutely smashing it?
Stepping Out for Others
Last weekend I attended my first Atlanta Pride parade. 🏳️🌈 It was everything I expected it to be: rainbows, glitter, smiles, and love. My city really showed up, and I couldn’t have been prouder to be part of it. I was walking with the Eating Disorders Information Network, an incredible organization that combats eating disorders through prevention, education, and body positivity. Love your body. Love each other. Love is love. I told you it was a love-filled day! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 On my way home, I was thinking about the fact that I spent my day marching for LGBT rights, even though I’m not LGBT, and I was volunteering for EDIN, even though I’ve never had an eating disorder. So why was I there? Because one of my deepest values is stepping up and out for others, especially for those in need.
On a different level, that same value is at the root of You 2.0. I want to step up for you in your time of need. Maybe you’re struggling with how to ask your boss for a raise, or you don’t know how to confront your roommate about her messy habits, or you own a small business and need help with messaging. Whatever it is, I am here to guide you, to coach you, and to be your ally.
Because being an ally doesn’t just mean marching in a parade. Besides, that’s the fun stuff! Being an ally means being there when it’s not fun. In fact, maybe it sucks! As your ally, I will help you reduce your stress and move forward with ease.
How can I be YOUR ally? Contact me to let me know. 💫💫💫 #you2point0#blogger#consultant#rachel2point0#thenewyou#newnormal#reinventyourself#womenlead#girlboss#singlemom#workingmom#womenirl#therealyou#lifecoach#writer#writermom#divorcedmom#lifecoach#careercoach#smallbusinesshelp#socialmediaauditor#careerhelp#socialworker#consultant#consultantmom#ally#atlpride#loveislove#prideparade
Today’s Tip: Capital gains. A capital gain is essentially the profit you make when you sell a stock or other investment like your home. If you hold the asset for more than one year, it’s subject to a lower amount of tax. In short, if you’re about to sell a stock 11 months after you bought it, weigh the market and price with the tax outcome of waiting another month.

Seriously though, I am here to tell you to that having a sh*tload of followers does not mean your business is killing it. Yes, growing your following is important and it's usually a social media goal for most small businesses I talk to BUT it’s the *kind* of followers you have not the amount that will make a difference.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ask yourself this, would you rather thousands and thousands of random followers from all over the world who really have no interest in you and your services/products or a smaller amount followers who genuinely love what you do and might end up doing business with you? I know which one I would want!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take some time to think about who your ideal customer or client is. Then tailor your social media content plan to this audience. Coz guess what happens when you attract the right kind of followers? They engage! They like, comment and share your content and click through to your website. You know who else loves engagement? Ole mate #algorithm who will reward you by pushing your post out for more people to see. Who doesn't love that! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Business is so much like this incredible photo by @andrewling You may know the direction you want to go in, but the actual path is at times hard to see and hard to navigate. My personal experience has shown me that to have a rigid plan, come what may, is not the way to move forward. Customers dictate which bits of your ideas are good and which bits they’re not keen on. Life has that funny knack of springing up surprises (good and bad) when you least expect them. So to know you’re direction but being willing to gently negotiate the way is the best plan of action.
I offer a business consultation, aimed at small business owners, to help find your direction and to help to plan a realistic route. Maybe you love what you do but your hourly rate is less than minimum wage... I can help you to find better ways of working to fulfil your pocket aswell as your dreams. Or maybe you’re not sure how to scale up your biz... I can help you to put a plan into action to grow. Or maybe you just need a sounding board to see if your dreams could be made into reality. I can help with all of these with practical solutions.
My 4 hour consultation is £75, drop me a DM if you’d like to find out more.
Probably dreaming about breakfast.
Getting all kinds of awkward infront of the camera this morning for @fromagefleur - I am so so so passionate about this that it makes the sleep deprivation easier, the constant ideas and the process all that more worth it. It has been so long, too long since I've enjoyed work. But now, I can feel it all again. 💻☕📋🌿
"Very interactive workshop.
Perfect for people with limited or no experience- I was surprised how much I learnt in 3 hours!
Left feeling like a genius!" Charlie (Media Buyer),
We hear alot about morning routines and how important they are (side note @melrobbinslive just did a insta live about how evening routines help your morning routine. It's a good one.) and that's probably because there's a tonne of scientific research all about the benefits, main one being if you start your day in control and calm, the rest of the day will be easier to manage - but "I have kids!" I hear you cry, how am I going to have a morning routine when my kids are as predictable as Jim Carrey after 2 red bulls.
I totally get it. It's not always possible to have your coffee sitting quietly on the balcony while listening to the birds or sit down a meditate for 20mins. But it's important to have some type of routine even if it's not perfect. If your morning routine means getting a maccas coffee everyday, awesome! It's that repetitive task that is the benefit, it gives you something to look forward to.
Your morning routine can include the kids - get them to help you the night before getting uniforms and lunches ready so the morning isn't so rushed and panicked (techicnially you'd be starting your morning routine the night before, look at you overachiever, you!) Or getting up 10mins before the kids to have that uninterrupted shower. Start with one thing each day and slowly work your way up to a full routine - you'll thank yourself later.
What's most important item/task on your morning routine? ☕
I'll be the first one to admit, I hate getting in front of the camera. But that is what social media is about right, connection? Connecting with a human. Because behind every photo, let me tell you there is a human. And sometimes, those humans got to break those boundaries. Like stepping in front of a camera.
I mean, hell. I am day two into working for myself, I don't know when my next pay will come and I certainly don't know if it will be steady. But I am excited as hell to find out! ☺💕 I have found that fire in the pits of my belly again, you know the one you feel when everything you're doing. Just. Feels.
Yep, she's there and even if it takes months till I land my first client, I won't stop trying. I won't stop laughing and I sure as hell won't give up. I owe it to that fire in my belly. 💫💫 What ignites your fire, what fuels your passion? Are you following it? 🌿🌟
Comparison on social media -
“Look at what they’ve got in their business... I haven’t got that....” and so on. (Pizza pic from the weekend to illustrate 😂)
Does comparison in social media come up for you too?
In a poll recently I asked my group what topics they’d like to talk about under the umbrella of ‘social media anxiety’; ‘comparison’ was top of the pile. •
We had a chat about it and without going into it all, there were 2 key points that I /we focussed on. I really only have my own experiences to draw on, but this is what felt useful to talk about: Firstly, questioning what it was about that profile that made me feel ‘icky’ and not good. Identifying that and then looking a bit further to see if actually, if it is something that was a real issue for me, or if it was something that I *thought* I should be worried about/unsettled over. I often find that when I questioned the feelings, I could identify what it was and then move forward; sometimes it takes longer, sometimes not so long. •
The second thing I wanted to focus on was unfollowing and muting. One of the most powerful things I have done in the last year, is curate the spaces that I spend most time in. It is solely and entirely my responsibility to curate what I see and make sure what I see makes me feel good, inspires me and nourishes me. And sometimes, this has involved unfollowing profiles that make me feel icky. 9/10 times it’s not been about them, it’s been about me (“It’s not you, it’s me!” Channeling my teenage breakups 😂) and something I can see when I have identified the thing that doesn’t sit well with me. This action has helped me stay focussed and feeling good in my social spaces.
I don’t feel the pull of comparison as much as I used to anymore; I know my journey is MINE and their journey is theirs. But I know how hard it can be to arrive in that place (and stay there!!!).
For the full chat, come over to ‘The Social Sparkle: Social Media Coaching For Small Business’ on Facebook.
Ps. By pure chance I also listened to the amazing @me_and_orla #hashtagauthentic podcast this morning with gorgeous guest and Comparison Coach @lucysheridan - it’s gold! Go and have a listen!
SHOULD YOU DO THE WORK YOURSELF OR OUTSOURCE IT?
We all have limited time and energy, and so to function at our absolute best, there must be a balance of work and rest.
When running a business, it’s important to remember our purpose and goals. If we are looking to create, grow and scale a business, then we need to think about working with people who can help us get to our targets.
If your business is a growing business but you find yourself still working 10-20 hours a week trying to get sales, make tweaks, perform operations, and grow the business, then you should definitely consider outsourcing.
If you however enjoy doing these time consuming, daily tasks and operations, then by all means keep doing that!
At the same time, if you find yourself dreading responding to customers, doing the accounting/finance, or managing your social media marketing, then it might make sense to look to work with someone who enjoys doing those things.
One important question to ask yourself is if you have the expertise to do all the work, and effectively too. Many business owners for instance don't handle marketing themselves, or customer service, or accounting, because it's complex and time consuming. Those tasks you don’t necessarily know how to do but are necessary to grow your business, you definitely need to outsource.
HOW DO YOU OUTSOURCE YOUR WORK?
First decide what you need help with. Social media platforms such as #Facebook#Instagram#Linkedin are great places to find freelancers, virtual assistants and other professionals to help your business.

Update Your Website, Or Build A New One?How do you know when it’s time to make an update to your current website, or just start the whole thing over again? Building a new site requires more work than an update, but depending on the circumstances, it could be the best option for your small business and Internet Marketing plans..
Your website isn’t mobile responsive
Verdict: Update .
At one point, mobile responsiveness required an entirely different website; now, your back end can adjust to the screens of mobile visitors. It’s a bit of work to add to an existing site, but these days, it‘s an absolute necessity. Tools can update the code your site already uses so that a new site doesn’t have to be built from scratch. Google even has a free tool that lets you see how easy it is to access and interact with your website on a mobile device. Remember, most sites lose more than half their visitors while loading. Try it out yourself!
Your website is on a DIY site
Verdict: Build a new one .
DIY websites offer limited options, lower security, and less optimization. You don’t get to control the look, layout, or feel of the website, and to get even an inch, you have to pay extra. Building a flexible and versatile website with a digital media company gives you control over the look and feel, from the colours to the pages to the fonts. This means moving from a DIY service to something built from scratch!

Today. Marks the first day I took the leap to dive head first into this passion of mine that's grown it's own pulse.
Fromage and Fleur. I cannot wait to see what you and I can achieve. This week will consist of lots of goal setting, business development and ugg boots. It is absolutely miserable here in Brisbane today.
So I feel somewhat blessed to have picked today to start the next chapter of my career. Celebratory malteasers I think, are in order.
What are some of your tips for goal setting? Personal, business or professional 📋🌿
