My home is in the forest, with the tall trees, birds and cicadas singing away, the babbling creek and all the wild plants. So happy and grateful part of my work is with the native plants and that means I get to be out here more and more. 💛🌿
This colour is hard to photograph but trust me, it’s so soothing and beautiful. Like a light gingerbread or a camel 🐪 with a hint of mustard. Or like the leaves I found on my walk. Sock bag (or a bag for pretty much everything) is in the shop now. Link in profile.
Today I learned how to make slab タタラ with just a wire tool and wood planks. When I was telling teacher about slab machine in the American studio, he waved me off saying "ない" , basically a firm no, haha. Been enjoying learning all the slow way of doing things! #slowmaking#ceramics#handmade
#woolwednesday Another example of variegated yarn, this time a self-striping one. Self-striping yarn creates clear stripes when knit without having to switch between different colored yarn - pretty convenient! The length of each colored section may vary, resulting in stripes of various thicknesses. ---
What would you use self-striping yarn for?
I really enjoy gathering inspiration for the pieces I design onto a mood board. Here is one for Tarian that my daughter-in-law @ktmakesthings helped me with. I love how the colors in it pick up the under tones in the yarn.⠀
