Client spotlight: Kevin started working with me 4 weeks ago, looking to get under 200lbs. He’d recently just quit smoking, is getting married very soon, wanted to feel better about himself and have a better quality of life. Needless to say he’s never really worked out in the gym, and we had to clean up his eating. I work with Kev 2 times a week, put him onto a clean nutrition plan and work him heavy every session, yet he never complains no matter what I have him do. The nutrition was effortless, and getting into the gym as well. So far we are 13lbs down, 2 inches off the waist and legs, and 3% body fat reduction. “if you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.” What got me living this lifestyle? I had to find an outlet through a tough time and fitness was it. I went down to South Carolina and enveloped myself in it; It became everything to me. I have been living this lifestyle for a little over 3 years now and what keeps me going is striving to be the best me I can be. I took this passion for fitness and turned it into a career. I always knew that I wanted to help people I just did not know in what capacity. I started training under my uncle (who is now my mentor) when I was in South Carolina and was hooked. When I came back to Connecticut I took on part-time private training while working a full time corporate job. My passion began to take over and I wanted to be in the gym more and the office less. I took a leap of faith and left my full time job and started training members at The Edge Fitness Clubs in Orange, CT. Training and educating my clients became my purpose. I stress the importance of follow up with clients and keeping an open line of communication . My fitness philosophy is living the best quality of life possible. In order to live the best quality of life it is essential to remain committed and disciplined in everything you do. You have to be able to be your own cheerleader. Finding a happy balance is key to long term success. To those of you just starting out, habits do not change overnight so I do not expect my clients to change their habits over night. Reflection is a powerful thing. For the worst and for the best. It’s how we choose to focus that energy that really matters.
Every night (can I get a witness ladies) as I lay down to sleep, the wheels start turning and I can’t sleep. I used to find my mind wondering into reflection on the things going wrong, or the stressful things I had to get done in the future😒
But lately, I’ve turned my reflection into a place of gratitude🤩 It sounds so easy but in this fast paced world it is hard to do.
